I will never forget
One night in August 2024 I took a walk down to the beach to hear the teenagers roll into shore
I smelled smoke
I looked across the street
Someone had nailed a bum to the neon lit 7-11 sign
His body formed the sign of the cross
He had been torched
There he was, crackling and burning against the night sky
He was the first saint I had ever seen

Ode To Morrison
A black clad leather demon claiming to be the lizard king
Mr. Mojo Rising up on stage dancing in the summer rain
Doors are infinitely open to perception as he starts to sing
While young people bare witness to a world gone insane
Strange people are taking random drives in the moonlight
Ready to break on through waiting to reach the other side
A ceramic frog with a peace sign hanging over love street
While the city sleeps the truth is hidden in this soft parade
A simple ode to Morrison to reflect his influence on me
He taught me...

She is someone who is there when you need her
She can be tough
Her words can be a sword
She can be forgiving
When she knows it is well-meant
Life has not been easy for her
She is brave to say it without an apology
Hoping to help someone afraid to be brave
She holds her head high
Even in the midst of tears rolling down her cheeks
A light when you need one
A red light when he needs one
But in either light, she shines brightly

I slowly rise
from bed after
a restless night
of sleep I pull
the curtain back
to look out the window
to see the reward
of a new day.
THERE
scrolled in the midst
of a snow flaked window
are the words:
"I LOVE YOU."
I kiss the window

Pulse
keeping in steady rhythm with the day
the energies wash over me and I awake
pulses of light interact with my soul
stirring it with information
guided by the earth's elements themselves
a positive reaction will return in kind
the earth responds to the vibrations I send out
if I'm having a bad day she knows
my negative energies will be corrected
by continuing to get a response from people and nature
soon realizing my error
my anxiety builds I feel for my touchstone
beautiful enegy is returned to me and I calm
the world...

In the midsummer heat
our blues are in retreat.
Joie de vivre in the street,
the disco pounds its beat.

For the elders say that in each of our lives, 🙏 that we have to make a real hard decision, on what we want to deal with and what we won't deal with in our lives. For there will come a time when we have to learn how to navigate real hard through. Big or small each one has their own special place in her heart

The morning sun took my shadow for a walk.
It flowed over concrete,cars and grass.
Sometimes playing hide and seek with much larger shadows or stopping when I stopped to greet a friend and chat to its own shadow buddy.
Most times it was by my side,a trusted friend.
Quite often though it would be up front hoping to get to the cafe first before the other shadows did.
Or it would be loitering behind me, a truculent toddler in search of its tantrum.
Everyone has shadows.
Some can't find the sun.
