ABOUT STATUS - TAKEN - mmmm, I don't fit into that status as I am not "taken"...I see myself as "given"...yes, I am given to my love...
I am no poet. I find it difficult to open up to people. I write because it is a way of coping with life, with depression and with emotions...Writing has been my only escape.I don't share with people who know me as they only know the mask I show the world and don't know ME. In my life, culture and work everything is very conservative and people are judged harshly for much less than what I have lived through in my life...
"We"
by Ingrid Jonker
"in this way you will die off from me
like your futile seed
naked like water
a burning shimmer
like late
april
like hands
naked
lovely as mortality
as a final word
no little one
only
this little death
tomorrow the burning shimmer of our un-
begotten seed
tomorrow
dawn the blossoms
new girls like virgins
tomorrow
you die
and I "
"I seem to have loved you in numberless forms, numberless times, in life after life, in age after age forever."
— Rabindranath Tagore
