We'll just have to see what everyone else thinks. A poet doesn't proclaim his glory but leaves that authority to others to proclaim. He is just happy to hold the wreath that is put in his hands by his readers.
Sergio Corazzini, Edgar Allen Poe, Lord Byron, Juvenalis, Horatio, (latin poets translated though)
I have been writing since I was a teen. I have publishing since 2009 on an Italian poetry website and recently on an American poetry website in my own name. I love the Italian classics of the XIII century but also later and up to the 1900's. I love Poe and Byron and many others. I believe art is capturing a moment and making it stand still to show it in it's eternal perfection, like a painter who's art is an eternal moment that is captured and immortalised. A moment ignored by others but that the artist sees, puts in in evidence, for all to see.
