About Me

Read Full
I try to be really optimistic. I've been through a lot, and want to make the world better. Most of the time, I think I do a pretty good job of helping people. I'm an idealist, a communitarian, and a very hopeful, very loving, and very faithful atheist. I love this world, and want to make it better. I want to change lives, and leave things better than I found them, if just in my own small way: That's the Amity

Now here's the Ire: I get extremely angry. Sometimes it feels like I'm alone in my fight for a better world -- like I'm the only one with any faith left -- like no one else believes in real friendship anymore. I'm so full of rage when I look at the state of my own life, as well as the lives of those around me, and I'm not hiding it anymore

Writing is my outlet. If you're reading this, know I respect you and your aesthetic preferences. Know that I very much appreciate criticism which is constructive, but also know that I appreciate my own unique style. I refer to or use the words Ire and Amiable, as well as variants, in my writing a lot. The point of this is to show the connection my writing has with the struggle outlined in the 'about me' section of this profile. Frequent use of these words is intentional, and I feel their incorporation makes me more creative, not less.

I've tried to write very structured poetry, and decided it's just not how my brain works. I use stanzas, but the number of lines in a particular stanza usually have some personal meaning to me. e.g. the stanzas may be parsed out based on different experience or feelings within the poem, rather than more formal structural grounds.

I love to write. It's good for me, but I also think I can inspire and help other people. If I inspire you, don't be shy; let me know. If I don't inspire you, don't lie and say I do.

I feel decent at writing, but I never feel good enough. I always want to be better. If your words are constructive, I want to hear them. If they're not, keep them to yourself please.

If this is all okay with you, I invite you to come read my work, and maybe we can even have an amicable relationship! Thanks in advance, and I hope you enjoy!
