Villanelle Nr.20 — Age Divergence
We are ageing in different ways
and there are signs of a future time
when lights will dim in a strange maze
Barring sudden death, this phase
splits loved rhythms from known rhymes
as ageing takes on different ways
It’s hard to tell, predicting days
how long until a foreign bell will chime,
signalling lights dimmed in a strange maze
A theatre production plays
where actors dare not speak — they mime
the act of ageing in different ways ...

BRIDGES TO CROSS
From moments of time with each other as one, there will be situations that will test our love bond and patiences along, with our strength and compassion with unconditional support of understanding of honor and respect. That will bring us struggles and maybe destroy the very fabric of the love, that we built from our own blood sweat and tears with the process of the hurt and pain. That we will have to face head on with life's trials and tribulations, that will become sometimes to heavy upon our souls and hearts and minds, penetrating through the very systematic factions of our true existences...

Getting It Off My Chest
I say, "it's good to have
The boys here with me,
I don't think I could stand this alone."
You say, "I still don't see you interact with them
even though you're working from home"
Always with the shame,
blame, game
What did you do?
What did you say?
Would you rather
I didn't discuss my day?
Then surely in silence we will stay
For 27 years
I've endured your denigration
With relatively few rebukes
Of your character or disposition.
We're different people I understand
You're New York
I'm Californian ...
The boys here with me,
I don't think I could stand this alone."

The daily diminishing of me went on
and after I was emptied fate gave up
and left me standing there, abandoned’
