War Poems
#war
Poetry about historical wars, modern warfare and the effects of war on societies. War poems offer harrowing accounts of war from the perspective of soldiers and civilians.
.
Universal
There are parallel universes that orbit around us, not just above & below, and I couldn’t understand the assignment but it’s crystal clear.
I’ve never been consumed by such vastness, day in and day out, until the blur became my eyesight. I believe my soul slipped into another universal parallel to negotiate terms & conditions for us to merge.
Felt the tremors beneath brick & stone, it rendered me speechless. Heard the beckoning call for us to converse collectively, universally. Rise up into the light.
I heard the voices of angels calling me back...

Through Closed Eyes
Through closed eyes I see
Car alarm seaguls
Till belt blackbirds
waterfall roads gushing engines
Planes growling down from the clouds
Through closed eyes I see
Jetplane thunder
Helicopter winds
The call of the machine gun
The life drain from the eyes of
The innocent
Through closed eyes I see
Tooth decay streets bleeding drains
Velvet feathers pecking in the shadows
Lemon sky green sea lead clouds
Frozen train stations
Festering underpass
Moon daisies in the mud by crumbling walls

Cargo
In the still of the night
All fireworks
Sent towards the stars
Like exploding spaceships
Have long fizzled out
Wooden shuttle sticks
Fallen down, back to Earth
Their cargoes delivered
Into the momentarily
Enlightened night
Then silence
As the world
Ventures into another new year
Living in fear
Of rockets
Carrying a more lethal cargo

Angry heart and Soul Afire
Engulfed by life's fiery core,
My heart rages, a furious bull's roar.
My soul fumes with ire,
At the world's sordid mire.
War, hunger, disdain persist,
A plight that won't desist.
The shadow of sadness looms,
Ignorance deepens the gloom.
The morbidity of existence,
Cloaked in a guise of pretense.
My heart rages, a furious bull's roar.
My soul fumes with ire,
At the world's sordid mire.
War, hunger, disdain persist,
A plight that won't desist.

Ignorance deepens the gloom.
The morbidity of existence,
Cloaked in a guise of pretense.

The Machine is...2024 (Depressing Poem Warning)
The machine is
Hungry for money
Thirsty for blood
The machine is
The breathless immortal
Sniffing at your door
Screaming in the dark
The machine is
Born from the machine
Heart frozen
Soul washed
Mowing forests
Carving deserts
Leaving pits of filth
Toxic air
Toxic sea
Toxic land
Toxic animals
Belts of slaughter
Under Poison rain
Turning millions insane
The machine is
The mechanical vampire
Sucking on your fear
Draining time ...
Hungry for money
Thirsty for blood
The machine is
The breathless immortal
Sniffing at your door
Screaming in the dark
The machine is
Born from the machine
Heart frozen
Soul washed
Mowing forests
Carving deserts
Leaving pits of filth
Toxic air
Toxic sea

Toxic animals
Belts of slaughter
Under Poison rain
Turning millions insane
The machine is
The mechanical vampire
Sucking on your fear
Draining time ...

The crown and her puppets
Two sides pulling each other,
I am right, you’re wrong, it’s either us or them,
The third enjoying the thrill of observation,
The diplomats pretending to be neutral.
Truth seems to be blurred,
But every one is right by their own accord,
Tit for tat but the opressor and the oppressed are embodied in one character,
Rationality and logic are intertwined in a web of emotions,
The others think they’re intelligent, the others think we are stupid.
The oppressed and the oppressor has chosen to stay quiet,
We’re feeding them...

Existence
Conflict persists
As lives are laid to rest
Countless adversaries
Yet tears can't attest
Life flows like a stream
In the ongoing spectacle
Moments pass swiftly
Before one's perceptible
Hope succumbs to fate
As death takes its course
The body withstands
Until claimed by its source.

Fathers and Sons of Gaza
He does not look at the child in his arms
he looks only ahead, his feet fly
at the spur of worry, does a child
weigh less when it loses playfulness?
he does not look at the child in his arms
The stagger of his run make the limbs
of the child sway, giving a semblance
of breathing, his arms tighten to keep
the pieces from falling, he searches
for succor in the eyes of other men
he meets only quiet hopelessness
sitting on rubble of erstwhile homes.

Give You An Incentive To Come Home Safe
Oliver, I
know that it's
awful being
in a warzone. So, here's
to hoping that this pic
of me topless should give
you an incentive to come home safe.

An Eye for an Eye
An eye for an eye,
biblical
but what happens...
when you take a million eyes and everyone is blind
- All are guilty and none are guilty,
the sins of one offset the sins of the other,
all have claim so none have claim
- War exists to feed the rich,
stop playing this hateful game
- Look into my eyes and tell me I'm blind
... and I will laugh
seeing far more than you,
I see your anger and need for revenge,
seeing how you are being used
and I see we are all getting played
- What interest rate do bankers...

and at a safe distance
the horror of war is that it’s not just
a cliché, but an actual horror right now I’m sitting here writing this poem without any fear of the roof crashing in

Mm.. The Aftermath Of His Midnight Stroking
Last Night
Upper Eastside New York
New York, New York
Let me tell you about this handsome Hebrew King
Y’all last night, he had my legs in the air, sniffing, then tasting all up in the creamy dew
Had my body doing some strange things, ladies I because his midnight food
Oh, ya’ll want to hear about this
I tell you what, I’m still sensitive in places after he unwrapped his Creole naked gift
Gave me all the bliss
Let me fill you in
That handsome hunk has to the eleventh sin
Ask and you shall find
Still reminiscing...
