Now the time Approachith
Now the hour draws near,
Where past and future fiercely steer.
A collision course of old and new,
A battleground for the chosen few.
Who shall emerge as the victor bold,
And who, besides, will their fate unfold?
Who will ascend to heights supreme,
And who will plummet, as if in a dream?
To a fiery demise, they may descend,
Friend and fiend and foe, all blend.
Each one must release the bygone days,
Let history's grip unclasp its stays.
For what matters most, as time unfurls,
Is not the past's relentless swirls. ...

and rachael for her children cry
Mankind must put an end to war, or war will put an end
to man…”― John F. Kennedy
the fiercely barking hand grenades
and other weapons wars have made
are never idle in the hands
of those who set out to invade
the sanctity of sovereign lands.
the military muscle might
of killers who paint red the night
flex in the face of helpless souls
who yield to blood their last...

and at a safe distance
the horror of war is that it’s not just
a cliché, but an actual horror right now I’m sitting here writing this poem without any fear of the roof crashing in

A Multitude Of Curses
In the last few years
Of withering tears
We experienced Brexit
And the fragmentation, that came with it
Then the Pandemic, full forsworn
As we all became forcibly withdrawn
Then the war in the Ukraine
With the fear of nuclear intervention again
And the obvious worries, and realistic fears
As the worst of climate change nears
Along with the subsequent massive price rises
That has left black holes, and unwanted surprises
In now empty purses
And a multitude of curses
by Jemia

Oppressed
Imagine
Being in whatever your favourite place is
Living in constant fear
That a bomb
May land on you
At any given moment
Night, or day
Day in, day out
Week in, week out
Whilst the entire infrastructure
Of where you live
Is gradually, and brutally
Eradicated
Little, or no food, or water
No medicines, for your son, or daughter
As the country you were born in
Becomes a wasteland
As clouds of oppression
Rains down on you daily
Where countries that could help you
Don't
As they have a vested...

desecrated
(Note to readers: overnight, I seem to have developed a profound injury to my right hand, so I've had to write a poem that just uses the left hand letters. Apologies.)*
beasts at seeded grasses grazed,
at vert swards, barbed warfare crazed,
bravest, wettest crawdads fazed:
zebra, badgers, steeds bedazed.
reeded area: waders tweeted.
vexed debaters cede, reseated.
steadfast traders swayed, retreated;
carers, stewards, beasts - defeated.
afterwards...
ravaged streets were desecrated;
trees,...

Dial Portugal 1944
Under the cloak of neutrality,
Portugal, land of ancient navigators,
watched the world in calamity,
in the silence of their own fears.
Salazar, with his iron hand,
kept the war out the door,
but the echo of the conflict was sincere,
and in the gloom, hope was dead.
The Tagus reflected the moonlight
while spies danced in Lisbon.
War, a shadow that continues
in the story that memory sings.
Tungsten fueled the economy,
dark business in dark times.
Neutrality was a utopia
or a game between several...

Vietnam Medic
Vietnam Medic
hills of Vietnam
where medic
bandages wounds
of Odin’s warriors
as jungle blues
Sing from radio
In cool air
Of mountain Gods
Upon steep slopes
Rising from bamboo forest
In thatched roof hut
where small TV
Projects ghostly cinema
Of moon walkers
In 1969
For idyllic medicine man
Under roof of heaven
With occasional gunfire
To keep him honest

Slaughter
Israel
Led by its dictator
Benjamin Netanyahu
Commiting crimes against humanity
Israeli troops
Now slaughtering
Starving Palestinians
Around aid convoys
Whilst also destroying
The infra structure of Palestine
Netanyahu is a monster
And that back him
Like Biden, and Sunak
Are supporting a genocide
A slaughter of the innocent
Whilst Europe
Are still buying Russian oil
Transferred onto neutral ships

Stained glory: only Mori - NaPoWriMo 16
Who really wins in war?
Who will be left
To raise the proud banners high
as crimson blood of innocent bystanders flows
turning all flags red
now that more, many more
are gone and dead.
The dead care not
for who boldly won
Their tragedy is in being robbed
of a life to see a future
where all is done,
Or at least
until the next time round
around and around
Who it'll hit nobody knows
only that when pettiness grows
soon too the sorrowed blood flows.

The Killer On The Loose Is-Real
I punched a wall
And hurt my hand
I felt like a fool
Because i cant understand
I also shed tears
Of a salty brine
About the genocide
In Palestine
And that our government
Gives licences to sell arms
To another country
That have no qualms
About bombing the starving
All the innocent , at will
As Benjamin Netanyahu
Goes in for the kill
by Jemia

The Leaders of the World
The rich acquire wealth through dishonesty and the enslavement of the poor.
Figuratively speaking, they feed on the blood, sweat and tears of poor workers.
The leaders of the world cannot go to battle and fight their wars for themselves.
So they teach their citizens utter nonsense about nationalism and patriotism.
Teaching people to love one another and to hate one another is absurd.
You must not let anybody train you and order you to fight as if you were dogs.
Do not let the authorities brainwash you and use you to do their dirty work. ...
