it is better that any
society fearing spirited
debate and asking serious
questions without being
shouted down or
canceled
should return to the
darkness of the cave
and solve their differences
with pointy sticks, stones and
clubs
history...
the ever expanding
circle of diminishing
returns

violence Is terrifying
only thing that hasn’t evolved is
one’s emotions, you should see him shitting himself in 1066 just as
much as he did in the blitz, the common man, with a quavering and yet somehow a stiff upper lip

Ozzy Osbourne, Voice of Reason
Ozzy wants to go home
says the gun violence in America
is *ucking crazy
he wonders how many more school children
are going to be killed
how many more concert goers open fired on
like in Las Vegas
he's "fed up"
with people getting killed every day
Ozzy Osbourne has more sense
than half of America
"There's nothing united anymore
about the United States"
wisely states the former Sabbath frontman
with an unusually wild past
"America has changed so drastically"
Eccentric old Ozzy
sees the...

Bullets Have No Name On Them.. Pop Pop
BANK OF AMERICA
Manhattan, New York
“Ma’am are you sure this man tried to rob you.”
Zaniyah looked up; she tried at best to read Marcus’ response behind his sunglasses.
Marcus slightly nodded his head.
“Yes he did.”
The head security officer lifted his walkie-talkie to his mouth and pressed in a button.
Marcus saw two men hurrying down the street.
“I think the lady needs to get inside the bank, and now?” Marcus barked.
Zaniyah ran to the door.
Little Lenny aimed his weapon at the security...

Sacred Space
Sacred Space
He is a priest not a soldier
Not in the line of fire
Christ wasn’t trying to start a revolution
And neither is he.
Sons of Spanish explorers
Kneel beside daughters with calloused hands
From picking coffee beans
When the sun dawns
Until Sol falls to his knees
And sinks like the parishioners
In humble obeisance
So those of African descent lend their ear
To absorb this lesson so long coming
For their ancestors who wore chains
But now gaze from the pulpit
As ghosts in the genes ...

Messenger Of Grief
Showing up unannounced
to deliver grim news
it is the worst part of the job
speaking of things
that will break them
for a lifetime
And those that have no answers
haunt and gnaw at you,
knowing that if that one piece of the puzzle
could be discovered
they could have closure
and as pained as they will always be,
they would never have to wonder
who it was that silenced that person they loved
Some embrace me,
after it sinks in,
steadying themselves
from being sucked into the depths
of that...

The Marionette and the Puppeteer
Having fun on his own, the puppeteer wanted any toy to pass the time with—a plaything for his lecherous mind. There, he noticed the puppet sleeping soundly in the same room—the perfect doll, he thought.
At first, it began with stolen glances and grazes across her figure. Then, when the lights were turned off and everyone was asleep, his show started, and his costume was on, designed to do tricks for her—tricks she had never felt before, and neither did she want to feel.
Paralyzed, lying like a corpse as he fastened the strings around her wrists, joints, and limbs, she...

Gentle Nell
This is an excerpt from a book I'm writing. Any feedback on things like the readability of prose and enjoyability will be greatly appreciated!
Nellie Gibson was known as "Gentle Nell" in the same manner of irony that allowed for enormous men to be called "tiny". She was, in truth, a nigh-on lunatic, though until recent months, collected enough to lead a band of criminals through several escapades. Her lieutenant was a man called Morris, who sometimes, on looking at her, wondered if she'd ever taken a man to her bed and pitied any that she had. She was not a...
