Precious
For thirty-one years
it encircled
my left ring finger.
Smooth band
of ten carat gold.
Repeatedly scratched
and like ocean glass
polished over.
Symbolic of our
union,
our microcosmic
institution.
Ever brilliant
no matter if
the hand gets battered or dirty.
Emblematic
of ostensible fidelity
A burnished beacon
throwing a signal
that this port is full,
all docks are taken.
Though seeming
to become
a part of my anatomy,
With a few
carefully chosen words.

- The Meanings and Symbolism behind my New Name -
If everyone was curious about my name change, it was for two reasons... one being that I did it to honor my recent conversion to Islam, with my new name being now Arabic in origin. This is a tradition for people who convert to Islam, to choose an Arabic name or a name with at least an Arabic meaning to it. And I wished to honor that tradition fully. Repurposing a fist
I hear her on one again
and my eye rolls with
don't-even-starts
on a saturday morning
after a circus of
recycled insomnia,
my abdomen cramps
angrily in
what the fuck
have you done
this time pal
I think the last
ball shark
hauled itself
on the shore
baring it's teeth
to leftovers of
my meat
my blood
but I
remember
how you
can't swallow
what you
cannot
take in,
nowadays
I wear tongue
more than
fist.

Cycling a Poetic Ride
I will take my old red bike for a ride
when the muse sends a breeze from the hill
no matter what time, be it warmth or chill
i'll follow my feel, and Nature's tide
It may be midnight, dawn, or at dusk
when the tingle stirs a dormant nerve
i may even not be in such a hot verve
frozen with cold, or in the sun, i bask
I ride my bike sometimes at midnight
hear the engine rolling over its tires
an onomatopoeia sounds like barbed wires
sniper in the bush,lying out of sight
As i ride my bike i feel...

to say he was godless
make him run beside my chariot
for hours on a leash slowly stripping
away his toga, watching members
of the senate spill wine unable to
control their contagious laughter
i'd privately tease him by prophesying
Nero will be better in years to come,
