In the Beginning (Fahrenheit 451 - Part 4)
And it’s here, at the end where you start thinking about the beginning
About the journey that laid ahead and whatever would come your way
Now it’s about reflection, recollection, self-realization and retrospection
And it gives you a little more understanding of yourself, about these days
But real talk, you and the entire drumline were a bunch of badasses
Even if you struggled for a bit your dedication pulled you through
Even if during some of the performances you dropped your glasses
You all came together nicely as a team to make this dream come true ...

Molly
I am between you and her helix
induction of the pneuma is voided
erase the statutes and bleed in
it is not of this world or verse
love is the pinnacle of need
I greed you, greetings, I greet you
in the stellar thrall we groan
blurring miracles with magic
mischief is on the air
I can taste the disease
sunlit whore abandon this
a bad son who said?
Abaddon Adonai I am coming sun
inter the Rebellion and set it off
it is coming enter the great chasm and see visions
it will be in time, times two
then...

The Phantom Zone
What is real and what is not,
And does it even matter?
I think it does...I think it does,
When we remember love
Is all too much unspoken of.
Now, I will speak of it every day
And search for it in every book
And in any other blameless way
Not too disposed to gobbledygook.
Oh...we will know it by its mirth
And by the laughter and the smiles
That prove to us how much you're worth
Through all the ubiquity of trials
So troublesome to the human race.
But...

17 and 11/12ths
He's sobbing, overwhelmed
on the edge of adulthood
desperate to be told who he is
while balking against all limits
A joy and a treasure since birth,
what a gift that he shares
this tender heart,
this need for mom's hugs
And if I could, I'd relieve his confusion
But all my wisdom feels useless.
I know now,
I will have to witness
him gathering his own.
on the edge of adulthood
desperate to be told who he is
while balking against all limits
A joy and a treasure since birth,
what a gift that he shares
this tender heart,
this need for mom's hugs
And if I could, I'd relieve his confusion
But all my wisdom feels useless.
I know now,

don't feel bad
our son came to visit
today for the first chance I've
had since my stroke
to reassure him that
I'm still his ol' dad and I'm
still the same bloke
today for the first chance I've
had since my stroke
to reassure him that
I'm still his ol' dad and I'm
still the same bloke

Camp Counselor Crush
Camp Counselor Crush
Summer in New Orleans was artichokes dipped in sour cream, plantains ripening in the backyard, and ready to be fried by Mom in a skillet to sweeten my boyish tongue with tropical flavors that summoned the Tarzan in my heart. When Mom baked baklava in the oven the scent was as sweet as the smile of the ladies who strolled the streets of the neighborhood on their evening walks wearing scarves like the Turkish maidens in the pictures from the village of Yalova on the shores of the Sea of Marmara that I only saw in slides from my Dad’s projector.

YOU'RE MY SON
They say sometimes the best part of your life stories are the memories, that keeps you going as a real man for the greatest thing ever to happen to a real man, is to be able to appreciate and love his son as father to son. For it doesn't really matter if that child and son isn't biologically your child, for what truly matters the most is that you stepped up to the plate to be able to deal with the process of his growth into being a man. The truth of the matter only a real man can teach a young boy to grow, to be a strong man of strength and courage with understanding and respect for his...

Terrible two
You'll always love them.
Wonder why the do what they do.
Handsome little fellow.
His wild nature is true.
I'll do my best to raise him how to be a man.
Staying real to you.
Lord it's hard to handle in their terrible twos
Wonder why the do what they do.
Handsome little fellow.
His wild nature is true.
I'll do my best to raise him how to be a man.
Staying real to you.
Lord it's hard to handle in their terrible twos

Craftsman
With infinite care and patience
a craftsman bends over his labor
using tools of love and compassion
the work becomes his meaning
and the meaning becomes his life
with toil and sweat and time
building a foundation for the soul
of strength and respect and courage
the raw materials of creation
he labors night and day unceasing
constructing welcoming doorways
bright windows for the spirit
and walls to weather the storm
the work is never really finished
something always needs repair
but trusting to his craftsmanship ...
