Mum Sample!
On mummy day we just jubiliate..
On mummy day we don't barricade..
On mummy day we don't infiltrate..
On mummy day we post no bille..
On mummy day we don't replay..
I stand by the north 12 o'clock..
Behind my back south
6 o'clock..
From the right east
3 o'clock..
By the left west
9 o'clock..
With this tears how we pay..
Volunteer for replay..
Inside the mind we foreplay..
Outside the mind afterplay..
It's free world...

Son-Day-School
I got some knowledge
of my own I would like
to share with the youth
Some of the values
that you were being
taught is not the truth
What you got to prove?
A little influence and
a little power to show
that you have the juice
Y'all taking up time
fighting against each other
When you should be fighting
For your Sister and Mother
Genetically modified seeds
Is what this generation breeds
Real love and real education
about real history is what the
youth needs
When you speak of...

FFS Fathers Day
Happy Fathers Day David
Thank you, David
So How was your Day
Oh it was a fantastic time
It was?
Yes! texts, phone calls, a card and parcelled gifts
Did you have A Special dinner?
yes, Steak and all the trimings
Any cake David/
Chocolate cake and ice cream of course
Bet you had a few shots
yup a few spiced rums
A real party atmosphere of celebration?
Erm,....... Not really
Oh! Why not really?
Well what I got may surprise you: ...

Reining in the Wild Appaloosa - Rewrite
Reining in the Wild Appaloosa
John is an old soul who makes eighteen Sol circles only to become a vegan just like his Mom. He drinks her carrot juice by the gallon. He asks her, “Mom if I drink too much carrot juice will I turn orange? And if I mix it with beet juice will I get purple and orange stripes?”
She tells him, “No sweetie. But your eyes will work better, so you can see to wipe the last smudge of carob cookies off your mouth so you can tell Mom the cat ate them.”
“But Mom, if we are what we eat then that makes me a vegetable.”
“No...

For my son
I know you don't think much of me.
I know I'm not that great.
I know sometimes you look at me and your eyes are filled w hate.
I can't undo what has been done ,
The past is set in stone .
I can't get back your childhood years,
And now your almost grown .
I thought I knew how fast time flew,
But I realized much to late .
I can't force love into your heart
If already there is hate.
I can't take back the pain you feel,
The damage has been done .
All I can do is try to prove ,
How much I love you son.
I...

Christsong
( after Stevie Smith )
I was taught
he is the weightless son
from eternal death.
But then
out from under
brick and mortar dogma,
that says
what they claim
are Christ’s words.
Hear him—
not only on the wing,
but everywhere air is lifted,
for wind of storm is breath,
and rushing water from a stream.
Is this the way—

To Oochie Wally
I’m sorry for the times I screamed,
For the times I didn’t understand our genes,
Because in the beginning I didn’t know there something was wrong,
When you kept repeating everything you heard and went along,
Echoing every word I said,
Echoing every word I said.
Oh, your face.
I remember that time we sat in the restaurant,
When the band started playing right up front,
And even though I knew the music was loud,
You started crying so hard in the crowd,
I didn’t know what was wrong,
I didn’t know what was wrong. ...

Little Heroes - Meet "The Captain"
No, please! Let her sleep. I want to babysit." Every morning this is the mantra. He's only seven, going on 17. Little blonde hero with long crazy calico hair with patches of platinum hair all through it. He really does help me, too.
He doesn't usually wake me when he wakes, he just sneaks around and takes care of everything, from warming up the tv to washing a bottle for a hungry tot who also woke up. I never have to listen to grumpy wailing in the morning unless he's trying to deal with tangled wills.
But usually I wake up first and he's directing his pleas...

Mother Unshames Son
Mother Unshames Son
“Johnny, I’m concerned
about your sleep patterns
I hear your bed creaking like a trampoline
In need of grease at three in the morning
This isn’t a normal mother and son discussion
But your father left us in the lurch
Hence it is in incumbent upon me to tell you
Stop muh muhing your mosher at midnight.”
“What are you talking about Mom?”
“Do I have to spell it out for you?
You know exactly what I’m talking about. ...

The Ways of a Black Heart
( prose poetry )
Why have you cowered for so long? Leniency reigned through his tender years, it’s all he’s ever known, you can’t blame him.
Yet now you call upon an army, to bring reason down to bear, and also raise up, to wake up! But it’s not meant to happen that way and that’s why it never does. A half-hearted intervention.
You and his father think that outsiders alone will and should pick up your mess? To lay down the law to a boy who you’ve instilled in him a sense of privilege - of entitlement?
Who does that and still tells...
