My Boy
My boy
I hope you always climb the trees
And play in the dirt
I hope you always chase the bees
And find joy splashing in the creek
I hope you always laugh as you try to catch the bugs
And I hope being outside will always be something you love
I hope you always ride a bike
A skate board too
Or maybe a four wheeler
Anything that has wheels will do
I hope these things always bring joy to you
I hope you always enjoy fishing
And skipping rocks along the water
Or in...

Life Lessons
Last evening my son and i were laying in bed
He was watching his Tablet and I was watching Chicago P.D.
A cop show a man beating a women to the point of knocking out
So wrapped up in it until my son utters "Mommy why did that man hit that lady?"
Stunned and confused what are the right words to say
He's so observant for only being the age of four
Bud this is just a television show meant to entertain
It isnt real but sometimes men do hurt women that way
Tate baby, you must never hit a women not ever
Even if you are mad at her you never take...

Happy Birthday, Mom - Part IX
You were born on August 2, 1948, you were a Leo just like me.
If you hadn't died, today you would've turned seventy-three.
You were unique and I truly hate that you're dead.
I wanted you to get better but sadly, you died instead.
You were a special person and that's something I'm grateful for.
But I'm not grateful for the fact that you're not alive anymore.
Many people were better off simply because they knew you.
You were a terrific and caring lady and that is certainly true.
One great thing about you was that you liked to help others.

Craftsman
With infinite care and patience
a craftsman bends over his labor
using tools of love and compassion
the work becomes his meaning
and the meaning becomes his life
with toil and sweat and time
building a foundation for the soul
of strength and respect and courage
the raw materials of creation
he labors night and day unceasing
constructing welcoming doorways
bright windows for the spirit
and walls to weather the storm
the work is never really finished
something always needs repair
but trusting to his craftsmanship ...

Maternal Venus of Aloe
Maternal Venus of Aloe
In the kitchen, his Mom asks, “What would you like for supper?”
He replies, “We had pizza the last two nights. That sounds good to me.”
She says, “Let’s mix it up with Lasagna.”
“Are we on an Italian week? The menu here sounds straight out of a Mafioso movie.”
“Maybe you could deliver pizza to help pay the bills.”
He replies, “Then we could afford the movie channels. But you might not approve of my late-night viewing.”
She opens a jar of Shea butter and uses her hand to spread it around...

The Ninth Mother's Day
Nine Mother's Days have come around since the day when you perished.
The many years that we spent together are something that I'll always cherish.
You were such a great person because you cared.
When you died, I learned that life can be so unfair.
You were a wonderful mother and that's why I celebrate Mother's Day.
I knew that life would never be the same again when you passed away.
When you inherited $3600 in 1985, you shared it with my brother and I and Dad.
You were the most unselfish person in the world and when you died, it was so sad.

Lightning Bolt
A man was too drunk to give his son a ride.
Lightning struck his only son and he died.
He drank too much and his son had to walk to his friend's house.
When he had to bury the son who he lost, he also lost his spouse.
His wife was working at the time and she packed her bags and walked out the door.
She blamed her husband for their son's death and she didn't want to be married to him anymore.
After his wife left him, he was so heart broken that he committed suicide.
He was heart broken because he lost his wife and because his son died.

I watched the water cascade down the mountains peak only to fall to its untimely death

Splash
The earth began to quiver and shake and primal screams emerged
as the water fell more quickly

Do I stay? Or do I run?
Or do I let someone see the tears falling from my eyes?

Rest In Peace, Mom - Part V
When a person dies so young, I have to ask why.
I still miss you as each day passes by.
When my brother told me how sick you were, he told me face to face.
He didn't want to tell me over the telephone so he came to my place.
Until he told me the bad news, I didn't know just how ill that you were.
It was painful and heart breaking and your death was hard to endure.
You didn't die on the operating table even though the surgeon thought you would.
I was unhappy eight years ago today because I had to say goodbye to you for good.
Because of an aneurysm, my...

Maternal Venus Rides The Soul Cycle
Maternal Venus Rides The Soul Cycle
John is an old soul who makes eighteen Sol circles only to become a vegan just like his Mom. He drinks her carrot juice by the gallon. He asks her, “Mom if I drink too much carrot juice will I turn orange? And if I mix it with beet juice will I get purple and orange stripes?”
She tells him, “No sweetie. But your eyes will work better, so you can see to wipe the last smudge of carob cookies off your mouth so you can tell Mom the cat ate them.”
“But Mom, if we are what we eat then that makes me a vegetable.”

17 and 11/12ths
He's sobbing, overwhelmed
on the edge of adulthood
desperate to be told who he is
while balking against all limits
A joy and a treasure since birth,
what a gift that he shares
this tender heart,
this need for mom's hugs
And if I could, I'd relieve his confusion
But all my wisdom feels useless.
I know now,
I will have to witness
him gathering his own.
on the edge of adulthood
desperate to be told who he is
while balking against all limits
A joy and a treasure since birth,
what a gift that he shares
this tender heart,
this need for mom's hugs
And if I could, I'd relieve his confusion
But all my wisdom feels useless.
I know now,

Mum Sample!
On mummy day we just jubiliate..
On mummy day we don't barricade..
On mummy day we don't infiltrate..
On mummy day we post no bille..
On mummy day we don't replay..
I stand by the north 12 o'clock..
Behind my back south
6 o'clock..
From the right east
3 o'clock..
By the left west
9 o'clock..
With this tears how we pay..
Volunteer for replay..
Inside the mind we foreplay..
Outside the mind afterplay..
It's free world...
