Better To Stay Warm Than Freezing
You know, it's such
a good thing we
are both naked
in here instead
of being out
in the cold snow.

Snowflakes
It’s snowing again
And you’re on my mind
The conversation we had
In the car comparing people
To snowflakes
Each unique
Brilliant and beautiful
I watched your beautiful eyes twinkle
Sat in rapt attention
And experienced winter
Through your eyes
You live in the land
Of the sun
Snow has never been
In your world
Watching your delight
As each flake
Landed on your tongue
While you walked around
The parking lot
Tongue out and laughing
Warmed me in more...
And you’re on my mind
The conversation we had
In the car comparing people
To snowflakes
Each unique
Brilliant and beautiful
I watched your beautiful eyes twinkle
Sat in rapt attention
And experienced winter
Through your eyes
You live in the land

Free fall
Oh my goodness! I am falling!
Nothing to grab hold on
Petrified with fear
I close my eyes
Mother why did you let me go of?
Zero gravity
No more free falling
But lightweighted floating
I am dancing gracefully
Pirouetting like a ballerina
In my hectagon tutu
Far below
My brothers and sisters
Cover the ground with a
Glistening white blanket
Wait a moment!
I will come and join you!

Black Lace Moon
Her bronze foggy haunted light
was the splendor of a winter night.
Seen through a black lace of branches.
ornamented with the corpse's of berries.
Stirred my heart with the dark side of merry.
The sky was in a utero of magic
behind it's bedazzled dilated moon.
Fetal snowflakes will be born
in the infant hours, of a dead cold dawn.
Come silent storm,
I already am your willing pawn.

After We Got Out Of That Winter Storm
It's a good thing we
got out of the snow and back
in the house. We'll just
wait for our wet clothes to dry.
Why are you staring at me?
got out of the snow and back
in the house. We'll just
wait for our wet clothes to dry.
Why are you staring at me?

Winter's Secrets
" Those who don't believe in magic, will never find it" -
Roald Dahl
A magical glimpse at winter's secrets.
Behold the mysterious footprints
upon the frozen powder's bed.
It's the words we don't say
that amplify the ached silence in my head.
The soft tracks lure imagination
with their ghostly glow.
At the scene earlier, a blood red cardinal
perched in the stark white snow.
Another peaceful moment of heart glow.
Winter's startling secrets grant joy
May the return to reality be forever slow.

Ancient Wizards of the Snow
Marvelous trees hung with glorious snow.
Resemble ancient wizards of the bitter cold.
Dripping beards shimmering with icicle tears.
The sun emerged to befriend the snow.
High watt sparkles to end my woe.
The sun and snow conspired,
the snow would melt away & vanish by tomorrow.
The snow does not resent the sun.
Another cascading snowfall promises to stun.

First Snow
--for v.p.
She may not have seen snow
before, my feral cat, but sits
still as a statue here
with me on the stoop
regal and unperturbed
as the goddess Bastet
in Egyptian mythology
gazing out past long dead
stalks of weeds thrusting up
through this blanket
of white surrender.

Blizzards
because you are the opposite
from my other side
turned inside out
autumn's cold khaki
that clicks below
of the heels
elbows hurt
and hands slip
on door handles
abrasive mouth
kissing the back of my neck
because you are autumn
of my other skin
burned by a blizzard
autumn without shades of blue.

Blood Drops on the Snow
All the darkness in the world stems from the darkness of our own heart - unknown
Why do thoughts, darkly hideous,
plague the midnight mind?
He did not want my heart, he wanted
the gore beneath its scarlet rind.
I hemorrhaged flashing visions of
my crimson blood dripping on
virgin snow.
His sweet slashes
left my heart thrashing.
As he drank the fierce red ocean
that floats my soul below.
I smelled a rancid scent,
The mortal death's on his breath.
In a deep haunting whisper,
he revealed that I would cease to...

First Snowfall
Snow.
An absolutely peaceful fall.
A magic white blanket drapes
the bland, brown haggard world.
Monstrous barren branches,
now possess sugary enhancements.
The speed and swirl.
Stark, the unblemished street,
glimmers the palest pearl.
Is snow just flaked ashes
of ornately discarded dreams?
As the frozen moon, has a say,
haunting the storm with the most
angelic phosphorescent beams.
A peaceful enthrall to those who fall......
