Nocturnal Tranquility...
Tucked within the Blue Ridge tapestry,
I watched, with passion, as skies of sun
and indigo kissed day goodbye.
Droplets of dew fell from the ether
to then be carried upon a chaotic zephyr
while I bundled around the fire.
As hues of muted grey painted the sky,
the moon made its debut in a pale,
yet supple form; granting the slightest mångata atop the liquid mirth.
As the cosmos embraced the lake from
the expanse of its astral plane,
I played voyeur; wrapped up in their moonlight reverie, and thoroughly
enjoying the cold, yet...

i watch
you smile,
alive there
in
your night,
glowing like
moving waters,
the soft
and sensual
dark
holds you,
adjust
yourself
with each
thought,
of love's
fair ripening,
alluring wishes
left at
your feet.

that storm came
that storm
came,
up early
enough
while
still dark
outside,
arguing
with himself,
waking
the morning
from
its sleep,
deciding
it wasn't
worth
arguing alone.

walking to the coast
the splendor
falls
on clearer
further going,
the sun
watched
tracing down
days
of gray,
and then
a less
threatening
sight,
the wind
blew until
i felt
the circling
race of a
throbbing pulse,
and
the roar
of another
ocean.

In Windowpanes
That each dull day and each despairing act
Builds up the crags from which the spirit leaps.'
- Phillip Larkin
I
Framed in grey the drab light
spills from white expanse;
reaches over the goings of many,
their eyes swimming in conformity,
heels pounding the firmament
to somewhere gone meandering,
catching a sideways smirk.
Feeling the midday confusion,
striding along with purpose,
the many among the few notice
where everyones direction points --

i cannot wait
i cannot
wait
of early
spring,
broad shoulders
of the sun,
swollen clouds,
the fields
and night,
the laughter
of flowers,
and
the hills
heavy
with dryness,
smothered
grasses,
leisurely
vacationers
drift in
and out
on the wind
singing.

The Prized Florets
The plum tree alabaster blooms
began to fall as soon as born,
so briefly do their forms adorn
their orchard twig and branch heirlooms
blowing free in the wind and sun
and clarity of middle March,
with one trunk growing as an arch,,,
as if the wood was having fun!
Accustomed more to midnight shade
I sat beneath the breezy blue
and watched the afternoon ensue
like heaven on a fresh parade!
Wherein each backlit bloom on high
was manna to...each winter eye!
began to fall as soon as born,
so briefly do their forms adorn
their orchard twig and branch heirlooms
blowing free in the wind and sun
and clarity of middle March,

as if the wood was having fun!

bird and sky
the bird saw the freedom in the sky,
the sky saw need of the bird.
the sun told me stories,
the bird lifted its head,
seeing the freedom of the sky.
i watched the scene,
it almost became too much.
feathers like birds ran through the air.
the bird saw the freedom of the sky,
different color of feathers flew.
the sun watched it all.
he waited patiently
the bird drank from the air.
the day applauded the spectacle
and nature smiled...
the sky saw need of the bird.

weeping rain
no breathing
wind,
in truth
my night
black,
a thing
to hide,
confusing hands,
the weeping
rain spying
without echos,
then again
in
my mind,
time pounded
outside,
doing their
slow living,
slim down
and erased.
