Something Whooshed...!
Something Whooshed…!
On a planet, in a country, in a state, in a town,
on a street where a lampost shines
and the houses, very warm, quiet dreamers in their sleep
like a hush after church bell chimes.
Something whooshed on the wind in the distance.
Something galloped in the lime moonlight
and its wings cut the air into slices of Fear
which it tossed in the night with delight.
And I shivered with a tremble and began to disassemble
with the fright now fused to my bones.
Slices landed on the rooftops, slid across...

Apocalypse Day
Apocalypse Day
When I opened my eyes, the day rushed in.
It was sunny and beautiful and devoid of sin.
With lawnmowers running, children’s voices played
on a breeze off the coast this weekend’s Saturday.
I waved at my neighbors, Sam, Ernie and Mack.
They busied with yard work but smiled and waved back.
I looked for my car keys. The cupboard was bare
but what was this something I sensed in the air?
An eerie, gut wrenching thickness of black…
Wait! That’s when I heard it, a lightning crack.
I raised my head. The neighbors...

The Werewolf
The Werewolf
I saw it in the moonbeams, just beneath the star streams,
running like a wild thing as if in chase or flight.
Cold breaths, short breaths, smokes of a night quest
whistled through its fangs making slices of the night.
Wolf made of mankind howled at the moon sign.
Forest eyes blinked their fears across the forest floor.
Squirrel sounds, owl sounds, bird sounds, bat sounds
merged to flee in symphony their voices from the roar.
A smell mixed in wind’s blow made eyes of wolf to seek...

In Father’s Room
The house on Gorton Street had been one of several whose streets led down to the docks in times gone by, labourers’ houses whose doors and windows were flush with the walls so that the buildings looked like great rectangular blocks, with no adornments. The house appeared in black-and-white films, from the days when an MP’s wife warned that we shouldn’t give the working-class coal because they’ll just store it in their bathtubs. Children would play with sticks and hoops and dollies made from socks while women with scarves around their heads called them in, hauled laundry, and brought home...

ENTHEOGENESIS, A CHANGA TRIP
It was the second calling from the sacred spirit molecule. The first calling, years ago, resulted into a smooth exciting initiation with me going just across the nearest dimension without any interaction.
A tiny sachet of magic greenery was yet to be burnt in the triangle shaped pocket of a black bong.
I tried to make myself comfortable but my heart rate was too high. That was weird, because I always approach any psychedelic experience with curiosity and joy but with no expectation, picturing it as a blank paper that is about to be drawn. But this time it was different. Panic...

dangling
Life doesn't have plots and subplots and denouements. It's just a
big collection of loose ends and dangling threads that never get
explained.”—Grant Morrison
on the wing, a sparrow hawk,
his feather rudder dancing with the wind;
or, tiptoeing on his stalk,
a lily-bloom with water woes to mind.
teetering upon his edge,
a child unwary of his pending fall;
deep misgivings for his pledge,

The Demon of Whitechapel
Part 1: Blood and Unrest
Inspector Tom Grassford leaned over the cluttered table, poring over the latest reports from the Whitechapel district. The incessant rain tapped against the windowpanes of their shabby office, while Inspector Alfred Sharp sat across from him, his expression equally grim.
"The Ripper continues his ghastly spree," Grassford muttered, pushing a strand of his damp, graying hair away from his brow. "Another poor woman, Alfred. God help us all."
Sharp nodded, his face a portrait of concern. "The...

The Final Ember
In a dim and somber chamber, there sat a man of weary conscience. His study was a tapestry of ancient tomes and forgotten lore, casting spectral shadows upon the wainscoted walls. With trembling hands, he clutched a volume bound in tattered leather, and his thoughts, like ravens, circled darkly over his past deeds.
The fireplace, a source of feeble illumination, flickered and struggled to maintain its warmth. As his conscience gnawed at him, the fire in the hearth began to dance with fervor, its flames casting a macabre glow upon the room. Shadows twisted and writhed in...

It Wore a Red Leather Dress
In my peripheral vision I saw a vision
The waving in the breeze of a red leather dress
Skin tight around the hips open all the way to those red leather boots
The temptation to peek made me nervous at first
Somehow her legs blended in so well I could barely see them.
Each step opened the slit down the back
Exposing two shadowy shapes of what I thought might be legs
But I just couldn't see below the knee
Until her red leather boots glowed underneath
I walk around but somehow her back stayed facing me
"Her" indeed, it was hard...
