Stop feeding off the negative
Once a week I do a complete shave of my face
I look forward to the warm water, shaving cream and Gillette Razor taking every whisker completely off
As I looked at my face today, the only hair that was left was above my lip
I don’t call this a mustache because I’m not trying to grow one of those
As I stared at myself and looked at the hair above my lip
I said to myself,
what if I donned a toothbrush mustache?
For those of you that don’t know what a toothbrush mustache is,
look at the visual I attached to this story
Not a real attractive...

You Don’t Have to do This Alone
Consider me
A judgement free
Zone
There isn’t
Anything
You could
Say to me
That would
Make me
Think less
Of you
You’re presence is a treasure
No matter
How battered
No matter
How convoluted
Life doesn’t always make sense
But together
We can
Sort out
The puzzle
Begin at the border
Fill in the spaces
And someday
You will be whole again
I’ve got nothing but time
And I
Happen
To...
A judgement free

DARE TO FIGHT FEAR
THERE
is no way of knowing
how much wonder, pleasure,
and amazing discoveries will
come to a person who dares to
step out of their closet
of fear, cast of the shackles ,
and saying yes to a gift that
is freely waiting to be consumed.
THE
dare to touch, to taste, to enter,
to explore, and more secret desires
will burst forth like a new rose
in the Spring.
Meet me at the Kissing
Place and we'll escape
the prison of fear together.
YES,
even that prison.

Soul Friend
affections are funny
they grow and wane over time
from furious flames to cooling embers
but my love remains constant
I don't have to like you to see beauty
your soul's scars tell me so much about you
gentle truth, I share my honesty
from one soul to another
sacred promise I will always be your friend
secrets of faith
we have trusted each other facts over our lives
never to ever be used as weapons
I keep your privacy down deep
in the sanctity and bond of friendship
it is an honor to know you ...

Someone I Should Know (A tribute to poet Edna St. Vincent Millay)
You should be someone I know
But on second thought
Perhaps we will meet someday
In another lifetime
Your heart
Sparkles when you speak
I'm saying this because
Your poetry is brilliant
You show others
So much beauty
In all things great or small
I would say
You are so much more
Than your accomplishments
You are fine
I suspect
You are soulful
Generous and kind
Your poetry speaks for itself
It's timeless
In it's beauty
Year after year
But on second thought
Perhaps we will meet someday
In another lifetime
Your heart
Sparkles when you speak
I'm saying this because
Your poetry is brilliant
You show others
So much beauty
In all things great or small
I would say
You are so much more

You are fine

Mother’s Day
You laid a path for me to follow
Though sometimes life can be hard to swallow
But you were there to hold my hand
And encourage me to step off the beaten path
You painted a world alive and green
And helped open my blue eyes to see
On this day now I recognize
Your caring influence in my life
Now I walk fast while you walk slow
But by this you still teach me how to grow
And with your age you will see
There’s still a child holding your hand…
…that’s me 🥰

Honoring Honoria
Dear H,
That's how I start my PM's to Honoria
We've had a long astonishing friendship
I can't think of anyone more well liked on DUP
She brings herself inside my poems
I'm sure yours too
Never judgemental
She always has positive comments
Witty too
She did me a favor
I promised her art
It's my pleasure
I speak for all I'm sure
WE LOVE YOU ❤

honest desires
ask me again
what is it I desire from you
it's as simple {& complicated} as love
I desire your touch
in places much in need of cleansing
on flesh hungry for passion as deep as your imagination
caress the dark corners
until they glow with the burn of it
sink your teeth into my aching need
& leave your mark in its place
whisper into the gale of my tempest
& watch all movement still at the sound
I will hear you...above all else
I long to see you soar
wild upon the updrafts & currents of your dreams ...

if i could see you again *
if i
could see
you again
for the
first time,
two people
broken
somewhere
then proceed,
starving,
in her
white
cotton dress,
feeling it
against
her ankles,
when i
come home.
could see
you again
for the

IT'S JUST ME, BEING ME
Bare unadulterated essence, my naked body
Unveiled, unguarded, and quite unapologetic
A canvas of vulnerability, so raw and so true
No pretense, or facade, it's just me, being me.
Within every curve and freckle, a story unfolds
Whispers of a past and promises of a tomorrow
Embracing my flaws, celebrating my strength
The silence of my skin, I find what freedom holds.
I wear no cloak of shame, nor a shield of fear
Just a pure, unfiltered essence of being here
Naked and unbound, proudly I will...
Unveiled, unguarded, and quite unapologetic
A canvas of vulnerability, so raw and so true
No pretense, or facade, it's just me, being me.

The true beauty of Woman
Maybe men mistake the power of femininity,
For they harbor judgments that fail to see,
Some hate older women, blind to their wisdom,
Viewing them as young, in their own delusion.
Skin colors, some despise, preferring between,
Missing the beauty in each vibrant sheen.
They label him skinny or fat, blind to his essence,
Reducing worth to mere physical presence.
Prostitutes they call liberated women,
Unaware of the freedom they have striven.
Complex, they label independent souls,
Ignoring the strength that within them unfolds. ...
For they harbor judgments that fail to see,
Some hate older women, blind to their wisdom,
Viewing them as young, in their own delusion.
Skin colors, some despise, preferring between,
Missing the beauty in each vibrant sheen.
They label him skinny or fat, blind to his essence,

The Resilience of a Poet
The resilience of a poet comes from the heart
From the deepest part of the human soul
And yet there is a strength from this poetess
It’s something that can’t be expressed in words
But there is a profound sense of understanding
Something that takes time and tide and time again
It goes beyond the realm of our comprehension
Something this poetess sees and feels and tells
With every breath poetry pours with calmness
Illuminating like a beacon beckoning a smile
Reckoning the intricate webs and nuances of life
In admiration of stars...
From the deepest part of the human soul
And yet there is a strength from this poetess
It’s something that can’t be expressed in words
But there is a profound sense of understanding
Something that takes time and tide and time again
It goes beyond the realm of our comprehension
