Beat Me to a Pulp
"... a type of work produced by half-educated and wholly incompetent writers for consumption by office boys, factory girls, and other persons devoid of culture and literary taste." - R Austin Freeman, "The Art of the Detective Story"
I try for taste, you understand,
and read sonnets,
collect novels that reap plaudits.
I accept manna from God's hand.
But often my taste reflects the dark mass
of office girls and workshop boys,
and so I fly like Lucifer, alas,
to folk fiction and pulpy joys.
Elysia's bookshelves...

Why I read
Some of my most valuable experiences
were other people's.
were other people's.

Your Poem made me Cry
the blood from your broken heart
ink to the poem of lost love
your heartache tattooed in verses
sent dusts into my eyes
lost in time etched in memories
of a love that once embraced
your spirit, your soul, your mortality
only for him to leave
before you kissed the dawn
My tears fell for your pain
for your memories that ended
with a rose on a grave stone
and you stepping back alone
you are strong, indeed stronger
the pain like a forge to your spirit
screaming and crying to God
"Why did you...

To Be Heard?
To be heard
To be heard
In written
Or in spoken word
Vibrating in one ears
Or rumbling within the mind
As tennis players guarding their court
Words ramble on when two lovers court
To outdo each others muse dueling to a draw
While drawing with imagery pictures of the heart
Heard pounding out the beat in hopes of being heard...
Did I paint
Perfection
On your face
In shadows color
A midnight rainbow glow
Or was it plain black and white
That revealed the word's silent meaning
Woven in...

What This Guy's Hobby Happens To Be
As
I could
remember,
my one hobby
happens to be that
of collecting comic
books that may or may not have
stories of superheroes in
them. You wouldn't happen to know of one
or two comic book stores nearby... do you?
