Stay Calm, Stay Cool
Stress and pressure can often overwhelm anyone
Heck, it can put a lot of strain on the heart
And while there may be chaos and mayhem all around
Staying calm and cool can be quite the art
Life will throw challenges at us and people will test us
But the key to composure is that ability to pause
Taking a deep breath to let the brain process and generate
So that the response will focus on the root of the cause
And perhaps it in this type of pragmatic approach
That our action alone will command regard and respect
Because body language...

Inner Peace
Inner peace requires peace of mind
Self doubt brings forth turbulence
Thus shaking the scales one must balance
Urgency brings on mistakes
Yet complacency stifles all growth
Find your pace but take your time
Take a few breaths and quiet the mind
Breathe in and breathe out
Do not bury but instead expel
Cleanse the vessel of your soul
Choose the higher path
Feel the energy from the heavens
Become born again
Your view is your world
Shape it to your desires
Conquer yourself and then be at peace ...

In Search of...
Forgiveness
The path was clear yet darkened in fear
My destination obscured in mystery
Knowing the truth would set me free
I was unsure if I would embrace honesty
Now I see it is the only way to be
When contemplating the creation of poetry
Fore had I never confessed my duplicity
None of my verse would be worth
The canvas where my heart spilled the flow of my soul
Her forgiveness enlighted the shadows ahead
Making the road never traveled before
The only course to follow to expose the inner me

Best In Hue - Swatch 1
A mixture
of bright, sunny yellow
and every shade of blue.
Green, is the color of the spectrum
that best describes my moods.
A fanfare of green
ushers in Spring
Signaling “GO,”
you plants can grow
after languishing
in long Winter's dormancy.
The color of memories
of cutting grass,
picking weeds, planting annuals
comforting scent of soil
grounding my peace,
globs of cool earth
caking my knees.
The love of Gaia
envelopes me
when walking in forests
of evergreens
unconditional love ...

One hateful,
derogatory word
said with anger, prejudice, or spite,
can alter the course
of ones life
Weaving threads of
shame, resentment, and vindictiveness into the fabric of
our populace
ever weakening,
word by word by word
any hope for peace.
Take time to ponder
the short and
long term consequence
if tempted, perchance,
to hurt or bring low
another soul with a word
Better to replace a malignant utterance
With words of brotherhood, understanding,
and kindness.

I looked trouble
In the eye
Acted swiftly
To deal with it
But I'm skeptical
Of people now
Am I angry?
No, this is
Closer to rage
At how the
World is so full
Of hatred
Rude people
The ungrateful ones
Who try to make
You miserable
At every opportunity
Why can't you and I
Disagree and

On Mindfulness
The internal compass should guide us
Shining a light through the dark times and places
Being more cognizant
So that we may reach more profound levels of understanding
…of ourselves
Perhaps it’s there
When we pause and live in the moment
Aware of our own thoughts
Where we can subdue old sorrows and disappointments
Suppress anxiety of the unknown
…or for what has yet to be
I must dwell in the now and relish in the present
Realizing that when letting go of worries and fears
It will get me closer to clarity and...

I've seen the moon by mountain top
and from the glens and dells,
and through the yeasted barley crop
my Irish vice compels.
So either way my life was lit
in plenitude of gold
as if I were a slave to it
from bardic times of old.
And thus I think I would forgive
those folks who think it odd
that some among us choose to live
as if there were no god.
But god or not, it's not for me,
to bitch about the things
which bring more gold for me to see...
than rights divine by kings!

Nocturnal Tranquility...
Tucked within the Blue Ridge tapestry,
I watched, with passion, as skies of sun
and indigo kissed day goodbye.
Droplets of dew fell from the ether
to then be carried upon a chaotic zephyr
while I bundled around the fire.
As hues of muted grey painted the sky,
the moon made its debut in a pale,
yet supple form; granting the slightest mångata atop the liquid mirth.
As the cosmos embraced the lake from
the expanse of its astral plane,
I played voyeur; wrapped up in their moonlight reverie, and thoroughly
enjoying the cold, yet...

Even in the coldest winter
Bury me deep
Where the sun does not touch down
Even in the hottest deserts
Keep my memory
scattered even upon dusty mantles
May death finally bring me certain kinds of wisdom
Even across emotional hearted minds and wild vibrations of waters

from timeless hours
