Angel Eyes (A Witche's Tale)
and so
the man came and told
the frightened woman
of her husband's demise
that soldier
a true man of honor
who called her angel eyes
then when he left
she grabbed a
white cloth
dampened it
a little
wiped her eyes with it
and cried out
to no one
she grabbed up
the string of beads
where they lay in
the wooden box
she kept it in

they had your ass riding them like horses
Rob Zombie I see you i'll get to you little lily

and you want to claim to be big boys ...

Winter’s Thaw
frigid
night air
pierces
new holes
through
my heart
it’s the start
of spring
birds sing
last year’s
crisp leaves
graze the
frozen ground
with a sound
like dry brush
strokes
that evoke
all the senses
wind is reckless
a painted canvas
of neon sunset
hangs overhead
chitter chatter
can be heard
from chipmunks’
holes
stretch my toes
bugs buzz
around
our home
but it’s still
a bit too cold
for flowers’
arrival
their survival ...

Rhyme ?
I’m your queen
Not mean
Most of the time
Unless drinking vodka and lime
My Rhyme sucks
I don’t give 2 fucks
You're cute
And astute
Give me a prayer
I promise to pull your hair
It will be fun
I don’t carry a gun
I’m smart not dumb
Your beautiful hair … no gum

Remembering Beginnings and Origins
Transported to a place
Before time
After space
A voice rises from the deep
A song in the present
From the ancient past
Calls to the human spirit
You can hear the soul speak
Communing with ancestors
A language that transcends the ages of man
A recollection of past lives
Remembering beginnings and origins
The ways of the past have not really been forgotten
You can hear it in the beat of the drum
In strings
In chords
Without words
You feel it
Like magic
Releasing its power through music
Before time
After space
A voice rises from the deep
A song in the present
From the ancient past

Hesperian Allure!
All clear last night, yet, in the southeast
the moon loafed over horizon puffs
as far flung as eldritch cottonwood fluffs
or dragon breath the Atlantides released
in apple garden exhalation mode
to glow as gold as the gibbous is thick
as satisfaction for the lunatic
wearied of the light emitting diode.
You see, lunatics know which light is best
and which hue most rewards the midnight eye
when mytho-scanning from east to west
all the aesthetics of a moonlit sky...
which Hesperus had long ago addressed
when she taught Luna...

This Old Man
The cry of the wolf knows not he is the inheritance of the waning moon
Interchanging aggression for passion drip of desires darkness shall swoon
Howl unto me my night creatures, feast of the blood
Fangs dipping in ripen flesh in the name of love
London Bridges falling down human immurement sacrificed limbs to keep its crown
What goes up Vikings burned it to the ground
Bodies encased in its moorings hushed without the Queens' sound
Watering graves erected beams
Entombed, no...

Ostara
Monastic ripples fade
in gratitude we bowed our heads
to celebrant silence
I dream in hints of hibiscus
white crowned magnolia blossoms
have covered this path
I came here to bring the last salmon home
entered into miasma wind
magpies mimicked
vernally so
I was not defined by name
now I am earthen
gestating

Dawns eyes...
distance waking
child of today
ending grotesque
fantasies.
Skeletons settle...
reentering subconscious
wombs waiting
to be born again.
We call them dreams.

Hymn to Trees
Black boots leave a bus
as I watch it trundle off
into English dust
I pass through a kissing gate
walk past the orchard full
of Beltane blossom
up a dirt track towards
a meadow full of buttercups
and red clover.
There she stands
Bella, my oak tree
on her own in the midst
of a lone field
she who stands with ribbons
tied into her spindles
markers of every prayer
every thought
every wish ever uttered.
I sit here sometimes
crouching to reach a crawl-space...
as I watch it trundle off
into English dust
I pass through a kissing gate
walk past the orchard full
of Beltane blossom
up a dirt track towards
a meadow full of buttercups
and red clover.
There she stands

Have We Remembered
Have we remembered the Cross quarter festivals
As Imbolc past
The threshold of spring
Bright and sunny was ill omened
Cloudy and dark bode well
And presaged soon planting
Did we step out of the world and into the present
To honor the conjunction of place and time
The blackthorns of Cailleach are blooming
The lambing time's come
And the milking of ewes
Make preparations for sowing
Before the calving begins
Have twigs of rowen been placed
In barns and above doorways ...
