I.
I wish I was a Witch
imbued through grace
beget by the knowledge of Truth
to combat ignorance
I'd proudly proclaim the title
bowing to Mother Nature
for gifting me the moniker
of so brave the women
—maiden, mother, and crone—
who suffered under religiosity
from pointy fingers
and judgmental tongues
condemning them to death
II.

My Name
Burning dark clouds,
fallen embers burn through night sky,
I am Mastema, the Veiled One,
Concealed out of sight,
Echo's of rebellion prophesied with fate,
A darkened mirror for the proud,
the serpent-tongued lure,
Creeps within our essence,
Heart's ambition lies tangled.
Fire and fallen gods,
Call me Melek Taus,
A feathered figure,
Draped in midnights robes of a starless black sky,
A black hole in a negative space,
Fires of souls burning
flickering in the night,
casting long shadows, ...

Sacred Dust
In moonlight’s glow
and shadows grey
wafting incense
and cleansing sage
a coarsen circle of salt
seals shut the gate
A potion of spells
begins to take hold
a Life-force of energy
emanating Love
Transcendental planets
begin to align—
Uranus, Neptune
and Pluto by design
The binds of ancient portals
release their sacred lock
Spirits of our Ancestors
beyond the veil come forth
Incandescent bodies of light
illuminate the hour
Ashes of Earth begin to rise ...

The Day Of Reckoning (COTS)
To know the mark of the beast, look upon they embedded of thy kissed face
Weaken mentalities to deal with the channeling of self, yet a two legged entity walking among thy human race
Royalty has pressed upon the lip's civilizations taste
Rage festering from the fountains of a forgotten livid youth
The is the eighth eclipsed of the soul denounced living in the darkness of denied truth
Reliving moments of stolen time from a descend into chaos formed its own new rebirth

Mother Mag
There once lived a woman
In an opulent estate
No amount of wealth
Could spare her this fate
Her name was Mag
She bore a beautiful daughter
Nothing could prepare them
For this unsightly slaughter
They spent their young lives
Creating potions and powders
The alchemical machines could
Not have been any louder
Healers by trade and
Mystics by night
I can still see the way their brooms
Rose with the night
For they were...

The Sheridan Women
The women of the Sheridan family always disappeared at some point in their lives, normally before fifty but at least once at seventy-two. (She was a powerful old woman called Ma Sheridan, who ruled her henhouse with an iron claw.) Eleanor became dimly aware of this truth when she was seven years old, and overheard her mother explaining family photographs to her grandfather, already short of memory at sixty-eight. His name was Granddad Chips and it would take another twelve years for the old boy to require hospitalisation, by which time Eleanor would have made her disappearance, the youngest...

Hymn to Druids
That Midsummer evening
I crossed Salisbury Plain on foot
thousands of people
bag checks
sniffer dogs
they blurred into the background
as I saw them there—
the great sarsens, sentry in the Earth
yoked to one another, some toppled
I pressed desperate palms against them
and soaked in all I’d imagined
in every documentary
every school book
felt those blue stones reverberate
as women in red sang melodies
harmonising with the sunset
and the darkness...

Hymn to The White Spring
In the beginning I saw nothing
eyes furiously adjusting
between day and night
a woman held my hand down
those gnarled stone steps
as I teetered on the edge
of nerves and darkness
then, as if a dimmer switch
gently illuminated sight:
hundreds of candles
moss covered horns
a huge central pool carved
out of simplistic stone
overflowing with spring water.
I sat a little.
Watched naked humans climb
in and out of that...

Hymn to the Maiden
There are fields in the mind
endless fields stained in gold
where I’d lay in the harvest,
stalks erect beneath the sun
listening to the gentle chatter
of seeds shivering in their husks.
Anglia grew wheat, and hops
and rapeseed. Settlements
built on boggy fens and
Roman rule
and so I’d lay gazing at the sky
dreaming of coins and rings
and treasures laying dormant
inches below the soil, thinking ...

Hymn to Cernunnos
I threw up in the alley
shortly after leaving the car.
It was a mixture of things—
the smell of the place for one,
how my stomach lurched
the second I turned a corner
to see that old market cross
standing in the square
and there it was
the old flat rented out
in somebody else’s name,
the carpet shop quite gone
replaced with books
and barbers.
I looked up at the window.
Where [x] happened.
That thing.
I still can’t speak its...

Of Ancient Lore Forgotten
- Of Ancient Lore Forgotten -
In far ancient days of lore forgotten, alluded to in texts of old,
Glimpsed, in visions fantastic, by those who serve inspiration...
Never realizing the deeper truths their words oft leave untold.
In those days, I walked the world amid now long lost nations,
With kindred once immortal, made to live and die as men must.
They bound themselves unto me, seeking a truth I could teach,
That might deliver them from the fate of going to a grave's dust.
And I showed them the ways we are eternally within our reach!
