no sound
was evident
in my ear,
the morning
was not
speaking,
he had
lost
his power
of speech

the night,

blue morning
eased its smile
up early
over
the landscape,
an early
whistle opening
the windows,
the doors,
eyes plunging
into living,
uncoiling breaths
drank heavily,
and
before it
was known,
those salt
and pepper
clouds
moved ahead

it all
began
seemingly
innocent
enough,
that great
task,
to go
outside,
to count
the stars,
ones
that wait
just above
my head,
these pleasures
woke up
the moon,
it became
happy
woke up
the sun,
but he
was not
happy,
and now
waiting
on his
jealousy
to run
its course,
i will
get back
to counting
more stars
when
the sun
again
relents
his sky.
