scarlet consequences
Breathing out
l o n g , slow and cleansing
relief slow-warms my sharpness
an echo of 'maybe' thoughtfully escapes
( just maybe...)
Completely done teetering at a wits end
righteous greedy lungs
inhale deep promise-fought equity
expelling pure ardent hope
resuscitating faith
Tender-tough hope that springs forth
consequences and accountability
aimed at silent wishes
whispers that spark combustion
dawning scarlet awareness on the horizon ...

Against The Winds Of Time
I saw your beautiful silhouette in the ether of time
Your breath of passion felt like soothing wine
I called out to you
Did you adhere to my alluring voice echoing in the wind
The fog of infinity meeting the crossroads, where hearts, minds, souls, softly blend
Opening my eyes, looking upward toward the skies
Resonating whispered serenades, embracing lullabies
Upon the creation of truth, you’ve tasted the warmth of my skin
The sanctuary of my mystique you reside in ...

Here and there
How much does a soul weigh?
Depends on how much soul food you eat, I suppose
Ah, but that is too short and easy an answer
Too simple
Unless you can define exactly what soul food is
We know about the heart and how it feeds itself
We don't even know where the soul is located
(Assuming it exists)
So how does any form of food finds its way there?

Attentive Awareness (Rhyme)
Attentive awareness.
Intention, apparent.
Reflection, inherent.
Conceptions, examined.
Complexion, comparing.
Retentive examples.
Remembered coherence.
Perceptions, covalent.
Momentous preparedness.
Assembled advancement.
Incentive is candid.
Direction, transparent.
Resembled enhancement.
Inventive enamor.
Objective, companions.
Affection, and fairness.
Pretension then chances.
Convention entrances.
Contention, enchantment.
The methods of madness.

Behold the deepest light, of the tender fire"
-Saint Marco, 1664.
She likes to carry a bible.
I don't judge too harshly.
There's worse things.
As a child, in her home country,
she sold matchsticks by the bundle.
At twelve, they're expected
to sell them door to door,
where the lanterns were kept bedside.
Three dollars American, to them,
was a day's pay like their fathers.
But blue-eyed buyers got a break.

The Dissident
Walternate Universe - FS44
With my wife soundly asleep in bed
I got dressed so that I would ready at 11:11pm
This time I was more mentally prepared
When the blue portal opened up again
My handler, TOTO gave me a quick briefing
I was a lead architect in the plans of a giant structure
But there was a small flaw in the overall design
That within a year at its full capacity would rupture
“Why doesn’t my alternate self advise against it” I asked
“He has” TOTO replied, “but it’ll cost billions
So even though they told you to...

Armageddon
Seven bowls poured out
The first festers flesh flustered by a feast of boils
As holiness bears the blade
Drawn across the throat of those that speak with anti-anointing oils
As wrath proceeds in a procession of plagues
Bowl two, a red tide
Some parasite born of spiritual decay
When the beauty of creation has died
And moral degradation is the new way
Furthermore there is a third
As all water turns to blood
The thirst for violence quenched
Choking on the rot of their own flood
No penances made, onto number four ...

Black History Month
Awash in an ocean of cliché
I saw the sonnet in a brand new way
Where there was no where to go but above,
Strait up into altisonous love
Where lesser noise is left far below
In the surround sound of platitude's show;
Stuck in the cheap seats of discord and din
Grieving again at the wages of sin.
But sometimes, just sometimes...sounds are quite good,
Markedly, when they can be understood,
And in this way can be epiphanic
More so than lingo uttered in panic...
And that concludes my sententious sermon ...

Cerebral Ownership
By free will and choice we assimilate.
Most possess brains capable of reason.
We shun the collective and all they promulgate.
Save those coerced to goose-step by the state.
Hoping to suffer just a short season.
By free will, and choice we assimilate.
We are not robotized merely by fate.
Not born with uniform corrupt vision.
We shun the collective and all they promulgate.
No “Borg” like probes push to concatenate.
Think different, suffer lemming derision.
By free will, and choice we assimilate.

Confessions
Satan had returned wearing a dress
Pulling at my mental, but I'm not stressed
She tried to line me up with all the rest
But I'm a loner by nature unlike the rest
Offered to drink of her cup
A chalice filled to the brim with lust
"Sit down with me and please do sup"
I have tasted greed and know the disgust
She offered me conversation in front of the fire
We spoke of pride, envy, and of Hell's desire
The fire had grown, the heat was intense
We threw in gluttony for it's sulfurous scent
Our conversation was...
