Letter of Thanks to David
Dear David,
I wanted to express my deepest gratitude for your ongoing support throughout my pregnancy. Your generous financial contributions have made a significant difference and have alleviated so much of the stress that comes with preparing for the arrival of our baby.
While I understand that our relationship had unintended consequences, I am genuinely thankful for the memories we share, particularly of that fateful night. I do regret the strain it placed on your marriage, and I hope that with time, wounds will heal.
On a brighter note, I am incredibly...

Hungry Dopes
A pizza delivery man was beaten to death a few towns over where I live 3 years ago. Three teenage geniuses who decided this was the way to get some free food. They took all of the delivery man's pizza, but left the $500 that was in the man's pocket!

work no. 3
i abandoned all hope today
standing in front of the time clock
watched the glimmer drain
from my baby blue bloodshots
in the spiders web of software
honeyed flies they caught there
skipped lunch for stockholder cruises
i won't answer phones anymore
carpal tunnel, finger tip bruises
i'm running out of friends to ignore
standing in front of the time clock
watched the glimmer drain
from my baby blue bloodshots

Dial Portugal 1944
Under the cloak of neutrality,
Portugal, land of ancient navigators,
watched the world in calamity,
in the silence of their own fears.
Salazar, with his iron hand,
kept the war out the door,
but the echo of the conflict was sincere,
and in the gloom, hope was dead.
The Tagus reflected the moonlight
while spies danced in Lisbon.
War, a shadow that continues
in the story that memory sings.
Tungsten fueled the economy,
dark business in dark times.
Neutrality was a utopia
or a game between several...

All Hotels Are Whorehouses
Some people would not object to the view that small hotels are brothels,
But if you say big hotels are whorehouses, many people would disagree with you.
Illicit sexual activities take place in all hotels, so they are all the same.
The size of the building makes no difference; neither does the owner’s prestige.
Single-storey hotels, inns, motels and guesthouses are small brothels.
And a resort hotel that resembles a skyscraper is nothing but a large whorehouse.
Tycoons who lack integrity profit greatly from sex by running hotels and sex shops, ...

So-called Police Intelligence
The leaders of the police force claim that they have an intelligent organization,
But its evil-minded members have not demonstrated real intelligence.
There is no evidence whatsoever that police are truly intelligent people.
Unwise persons are not intelligent; it requires wisdom to be intelligent.
Police are generally arrogant persons and they lack the ability to reason.
In fact, the police cannot have a sensible conversation with anybody.
The police regard having a conversation with someone as arguing.
Furthermore, they behave as though they...

'24's At The Front Door
I wanna erase the pain revolving around my cerebellum
Reflecting a time of peace like an antebellum
The serum, unlike red rum, is my creativity
Waving the white flag when writing poetry
Another year meets history as we're approaching 2024
Expeditiously escorting 2023 right outta the back door
I for sure don't want anymore of what '23 had to offer
Devising a plan for how I can add dollars to my coffer
I want my daughter and I to reestablish our bond
A bond that's floated away like lily pads in a pond
Want my marriage to...

Career Changes and Life Changes
I've always been an independent real estate agent like my mom was before me. Because of my need for stability and benefits I went with a larger company starting last June. In July, I posed for this photo with other new real estate agents.
The sweet woman in the middle is Rebecca. She had the most sales for one month for a new agent and has acted like a mentor for me. I now sell properties all over the Dallas area. It was this company's August training that changed the course of my life. The company has been good to me and let me work flexible hours while I'm pregnant.

Mr. Gray and Mr. Nairn
Boss: “Mr. Nairn, how much is your taxi fare, sir?”
Employee: “Fifteen hundred dollars, sir.”
Boss: “Fifteen hundred dollars!”
Employee: “Yes, Mr. Gray, fifteen hundred dollars.”
Boss: “Isn’t that price criminal?”

Unexpected Generosity
Sarah pushed open the creaky door, the memories of her first encounter with Lauryn lingering in the air. There was a low hum of conversation from the men lining the bar, but all tables were empty on this Tuesday afternoon. Sarah spotted Lauryn in the same corner, a solitary figure nursing a glass of wine. Taking a deep breath, Sarah approached, the familiar pang of resentment and empathy weighing her down.
"Lauryn," Sarah said in a cracking voice.
Lauryn looked up with questions in her eyes. "Sarah, hi," she said, offering a small, uncertain smile. ...

Surviving
Paycheck to paycheck.
My life is a literal train wreck.
I'm not tired of trying.
I'm just tired of fighting.
Numerous bills and endless stress.
How do I even clean up this mess?
An unhappy marriage and a broken home.
I'm convinced that I can't do any of this alone.
Two parents are supposed to be better than one.
Too bad when they're angry it's like a war zone.
Screaming and crying with no communication.
Physical violence with no hesitation.
There is no teamwork, so they don't move forward.
Taking one step...
