Take # 48
This is take number 48
So place another candle on the cake
I'll hurry because the flames might set the set on fire
For heaven sake don’t make ‘em wait
The time is passing at a faster rate
With a quick blow I’ll wish for that which I desire
And that’s to balance my Gemini
Because he and I don’t look eye to eye
It’s a reflection in the mirror with a peculiar trait
The weight of the years are amplified
As time flies by it leaves me wide eyed
Something is tearing from me making an escape
I know that I’m not losing...

Whitney
I carry you in my soul
gently, so you will know I love you
within a sanity of thought
my keening went silent
when I heard your song
I felt the hurt you carry alone
so with a tenderness, I pick you up
and took part of the weight
so you wouldn't feel so lonely
knowing inside I felt the same
pieces of me rise in the atmosphere
rise, to greet your pain
I put aside my emptiness
so I could comfort you
you need a friend inside the numb
the dark seeks to swallow you
I came to see you through ...

Moonbeams
" There are no beautiful surfaces without a terrible depth" - Nietzsche
I contemplate, but I'm startled and seduced.
By the bone white gargantuan moon.
In it's sedating silence,
it sweetly loomed.
Over the dark lapping waters.
In attempt to calm my silent tortures.
Clouds, the steam
of day driven dreams.
Mingle with the moon's
brightest beams.
The shallow tide boasts
a turquoise ghostly glow.
To display the corals of
haunted thoughts lodged below.
Never fear the terror of your deep. ...

DARING TO BE ME ( # 8 )
BOUNDARIES
As I gaze around me,
regardless of the context
of the place or the
people, I always
SEE
BOUNDARIES.
Yes, some of them,
such as traffic laws,
protect my safety;
banking laws protect,
most of the time,
my savings and investments.
Then there are those
rules and laws created
by none judges and legislators
who try to create boundaries for
MY LIFE.
Boundaries that try to keep
me within the fences they
think are best, for example.
of my sexual activities and
preferences in...

Glow
Soul clutching
Attached to your struggle
I'm in the moonlight with you
We're glowing
Ran the numbers
17 was expected
37 and 38 were on the table
38 selected gleefully
Next selections
13 and 93
47 and 109 rejected
9 was a consideration
Took the offer of 93
Can change later
38 + 93 = 131
Positive numerology I'm told

can you see
an uploading
dawn
arranging
those silver
intervals
across
her sky
with precision,
the
day's heat
soon enough
to turn
the shade
trees
into kingdoms,
that is
where
i can
be found,
watching
the rest
of
the day
unfold.

As they say. . .
A company recently contacted me
about my long-standing account;
We’re so sorry, Tammy!
Our mainframe crashed
and we've lost your history. . .
'We've lost your history. . .'
I thought about that
for a moment, but wasn't angry
Maybe some things need to be lost:
Grief. Bad choices. A virus.
Imagine the chance for a reset—
to lose all that history at once
Replace it
with what brings happiness:
Family. Friends. Health.
Animals. Two jobs I really love;
though I feel one is a gift

In the quagmire
I am in the clutches of boredom that seems to wrap around me like a heavy blanket. It suffocates my senses and it numbs my mind. I feel this mundane existence like a slow ticking of the clock or the perpetual drop of water from a broken tap into a tin bucket.
I sit inert at my desk staring at an old photograph and the minutes drag on, elongating into hours. In my mind I walk through a monotonous landscape as the world lost its vibrant hues, fading into shades of grey. I yearn for a spark, even a flicker of excitement to jump-start my life.
I sit in solitude waiting for the moment...

Creature of the Night
The calendar's ruthless march takes a toll
and each year there's less vinegar to piss.
Yet maturity may prove sweetly droll
and that I will accept in lieu of bliss.
That major muscle group bombast of youth,
wherein the vinegar was the fuel,
had me so embarrassingly uncouth
you'd have been better off with a mule.
Now, sometimes, towards the end of a day
that inelegant vigor seems misplaced.
Time is no captain's order to belay
and so, what I have left I must not waste.
Therefore, of slumber, a...

Stars
Nights glow purple glazed,
seen through obsidian eyes.
Searching through shadows
immersed in twilight's embrace.
Lost in the constellations.

immersed in twilight's embrace.

Ugliness Of The Virtual Beauty
i boldly stood on the massive boulder
Watching the small village that lies below
It seemed in the eye of the mystic seer
That time up here, is heavenly too slow
In the foggy streets, nestled houses in clusters
Leave nought to the narrowest peep to breathe
From whence chimneys smoke up very thick layers
Where the living ones, spend a narrow life so brief
With every step uphill the heaven's gates open
To the most jocund views, that earth can show
Those small brooks, rivers and grand mountain
A beauty piece of earth to...

Tiny Flames
Watch them, the way they light up a dark room with a single tiny flame.
They hold so much power.
One little flame can cause destruction and chaos, healing and life.
It has torn through great civilizations, leaving only ashes in its wake.
One tiny flame can light your way in a dark cave, bouncing off the water-chiseled walls, as if sharing the same properties of the echo coming back.
It is enchanting enough to bring moths to their death.
And magical enough to rebound woodpeckers...
