was punishment,
that making fun of my big ass
'taught me a lesson'
put me in my proper place

The Genetic Blues
Men are mad creatures we know
As all their bad actions will tell
Like macho chest beatings for show
Or a prelude to Simian hell.
And God sanctions this, or so it seems,
Within a doubly gyrating strand
Harboring dormant, demonic dreams
And appearing to somehow be planned.
Planned or not it's the mark of the beast
Stamped in the blocks building blood
Long before the first page was creased
Depicting a biblical flood...
Which failed to rinse the pristine erratum
Well away from our Pleistocene bottom!

The look is hard, incinerating to the holes,
He looked at me like a jeweler.
A little bit of fear won't hurt me,
