Turned My Back
Turned my back on
The world that turned its back on me
With a dagger orbiting
My central sunlight.
Trustworthy blade,
Blood brotherly handshake,
Swapping lifelines,
Hand and spine.
The gleaming reflection,
Sharpened edge,
Cuts through what
Blinds and binds.
The audacity to
Earthen cosmos
Understand a star and
Grab ahold of chance.
In my head,
Gravity weighs,
Inward befallen,
To betray,
Consumed serpentine,
No light escapes
A black...

We Need One Another
The earth was not made for only one race.
Every race and nation belong here.
Moreover, all human beings are equals.
No person is superior to another.
We need the Negroes and the Caucasians.
We need the Jews and the Arabs.
We need the Chinese and the Indians.
We need the Asians and the Eskimos.
The colour of a man’s skin does not matter.
Rich people have the right to life.
Poor people also have the right to life.
Together, we all make the world beautiful.

Merry Spring
I write when beauties step into my heart
and when the Muse unveils her very art.
I write when to a wonder, my soul leaps
and when the warmest of bliss is spilled heaps.
I write when Nature reigns and sends her scent
and when allured to my Self give vent.
That’s Euterpe of music and beauty
full, overflowing many a ruby.
And when poetry, a gift that beguiles
drifting, with no anchor, into the wilds.
And when in life, breezes merge with the storms
highest Selves emerge above bonds and norms.
And what is to the heart precious and dear ...
and when the Muse unveils her very art.

The accidentals
Told a woman on TikTok
she saved my life
imparted her wisdom,
allowed me to
grow.
I don’t know her from Adam
but there was a calmness
in the way she spoke
rivers through mountains.
I think where I’d be
without her—
without her strange accent
comforting this question mark,
without all those affirmations
I’ve filled my brain with
reaffirming that wheels
have worth.
Some nights, I think of the ones
that came out of nowhere,
appeared from poems
book clubs ...

Among the Ruins
Far away
Beyond the north winds
A pale autumn moon
Glows onto the ruins
Etched in stone
An unknown hand
Long forgotten
In the distant future
Eternal flame to the next of kin

what if...nevermind (featuring 3rdEYErising)
I'm tired of the what if game
no longer willing to play
what did what if ever fix
wondering never undid shit
& I live in reality
where change occurs only by my actions
choices & behaviors adjusted
what if is a daydream I can't afford
a shapeless creation only affected by my imagination
if...I cause it to happen
take the clay of that daydream
& mold it into what I have in mind
what if is but a prompt
a kick in the ass
only as valuable as I choose to make it
but as an idle occupation...
...it's time...
no longer willing to play

Time-proof body
The strength of the body and the body of strength,
in a ballet of muscles and will.
Each gesture is a battle, an approach,
in the dance of life the eternal truth.
The body that pushes, that pulls, that reaches,
with the strength that comes from within, burning,
It is the temple of the soul, the abode of hope,
where every sweat is a seed.
The force that moves, that lifts, that sustains...
It's not just physical, but also mental,
It is the energy that flows and feeds.
That makes the weak a powerful being.
In the body...

Put Them on Ice
Constipation is just like squatters living in my ass rent free
Until my bowels loosen and then I can push the shit out of me,
“If they ever tried that fuck shit with my property
I speak, if they refuse-then its baseball bat misery,
“To grandma, kids and all other grown folks
They will learn the new meaning of American lost hope,
“Fuck where they go, but they will not stay there another night
Go back to your country, walk it out or catch a Joe Biden secret flight,
ICE “Hello. How may I...

Beginning to Live / For Callie
She remembered the day she
decided to live her life. No longer
would her study consist of gleaning wisdom
from the words of others but in taking actions
based on her understanding of those words and
lives represented by those words.
So when she read "eat and drink like a human being,"
she began to celebrate each bite of food.
When the philosopher said, "love like a
human being for God's sake," she made herself
available for love, celebrating every human touch,
especially the most intimate.

Ethereal Essence
Ethereal essence
Imagined upon
Whence transpiring
Direct discourse
What the riddle
Ransacked inside of
Empty space
To collect stars
Heart judges
Defining mind
Where turning
Spirit searches
Presumed wonder
Breath relative
Connecting sight
Taking time
Demons have
Stealth in secrecy
Adverting codes
Lying unto
Wearing color
Binary affinity
These dreams
Thieves wanting
Stolen aura
Seeking broadcast
Encircling closure ...
