Simple Deadly Changes
Change is such a funny little thing.
Our daily repetitive burnt out lives, longing for a slight difference in what is brought onto tomorrow.
Because one simple change can be all it takes for somebody to completely hit rock bottom.
But it also ought to be one of the most unexpected, subtly frightening things.
Because that night you see, things had changed so much for me.
Your soothing words flow like the lullaby of death and the silent impact is most disastrous.
For that night what seemed so simple, was far more impactful than anyone ever could have...

Sycamore leaves
Whispers call the night's allure.
Stars above pure and sure.
Dreams take flight, hearts endure,
silent woods of paths obscure.
Gentle waves kiss the shore,
lost in time, myths of yore.
Sailors seek the ocean's core,
Legends live forevermore.
Mountains high in eagles soar,
Winds of fate softly roar.
Nature's gifts, an open door.
Life's design at its core.
Sunset's glow in colors pour,
evening's peace, who could ignore.
Shadows dance, light's encore,
night descends, moon's adore.

Heaven Heals
There are no sorrows that heaven cannot heal.”
Mother gave me the quote and I like it now. My new lover is like heaven to me. He's calm and makes me forget my messy from high school. Lost loves? Yeah, they hurt, but with him, it's different. He listens, understands without saying much. Feels like he's got some magic to heal all those old wounds. He’s like a warm blanket in a cold room, wrapping me up tight. We made love the first time under that sign mother game me. I think she would be happy about that.

Reaching across this void
On the other side of a reality
Fractures in our perspectives
Brokenness from different points of view
Learning to see eye to eye
In this world of sight that is our blindness
The fight of faith is trained in these trials
As we sojourn on in this world of pain and prolonged miles
Mountains protrude and boast of their glory
But this is just the beginning of your recovery story
What the enemy intends for evil, God will turn to a testimony of truth
He is not the author of the affliction but a...

The man I'm not can't compare to the one I am
I'll never be perfect I've accepted that
medical issues abound and I am a tad too fat
my smile isn't photoshopped or plastic
but it still makes me feel fantastic
I'll never be immune to shame sadly
sometimes I do mess up pretty badly
I do mispeak and say things that are wrong
but I'm still in love with this song
sometimes my manners fail me
but in the end my demons cannot avail me
because I have found, to my surprise
the beautiful man who has survived the lies
and self doubt and destruction
only to rise without hesitation or...

weightlessness
A very common caterpillar
eating leaves non-stop.
She dreams of being a butterfly...
Could have been a butterpillar
or it could even be a caterfly...
Ends of the same Gordian knot.

Meeting David for Coffee #1
Lauryn sat nervously at the coffee shop, stirring her latte. She glanced at her phone, anxiously awaiting David's arrival.
An older lady smiled in passing and said, “You look so lovely. When is your baby due.”
Lauryn blushed. “I’m close to five months. Thank you for being nice, but I feel fat.”
“Oh honey, being with child is the most special time. Enjoy it.” And with that, the lady walked toward the door with her coffee in hand.
Lauryn's thoughts raced back to August 5, the last time she'd seen David. Oh hell, she thought. August 5...

once upon a song
a sonnet
“On the other side of pain, there is still love.”
—Madeleine L'Engle
she was the sweetest song i’d ever sung,
though amateur my quivering baritone;
upon her dulcimer my treasures hung,
my red wine her compelling pheromone.
her plagal cadence brought me to my grave,
not one sip saved for future poetry.
how fallen, i, a soldier once so brave,
slain hopes interred in love's cold cemetery!
but, like a seed, i struggled from the dark
soil of ignominy (i caught my breath!),
craving of light the...

Better Living Through Chemistry II
Better living through chemistry II
In the vast expanse where science meets the soul,
Seven seekers danced, each playing a vital role.
Their stories, like rivers, flow through the heart of time,
Illuminating paths, in rhythm and in rhyme.
Curie's Luminous Journey
In the shroud of night, Curie’s hands, bold and kind,
Wove radium’s light, a beacon for humankind.
Her brilliance, a star in medicine’s vast sky
Illuminating hope, where cure and care lie.
From her radiant discovery, a new dawn broke,
In the halls of...

What that dust did
I come from the north side
Then I kept that east known
But I been on my big boy
I call the whole city home
I been trying to guide the kids
Trying to call my city home
Used to feel so lonely but
This ain't a thing I did alone
Universe been proud of me
Like, look at what that dust did
I don't know my own worth
Guess I have to trust it
know that it's a process
Trying not to rush steps
Trying to learn about love
I used to think it suspect
I know you know I walked here
I learned how to fly tho
Look up at the...

As Time Goes By
(I remember all of this)
For too many years I’ve ran and ran
On treadmills
On dark and lonely boulevards before dawn
I’ve been welcomed by cool breezes and beautiful sunrises
I’ve been greeted by other runners going their way
And then
For months, I’d slide down an idle path
I’ve gone for hours on early morning runs without music
Listening to my breathing
Hearing my thoughts out loud
I’ve also rocked to tunes with beats pounding
Only to run out of breath when the rhythm was too fast
(Gotta find the right...

Who I am !
Who I was 20yrs ago is not Who I was 10yrs ago
Who I was 10yrs ago is not Who I am today
Who I am today is not Who I will be tomorrow
Everyday is a new me , every me is A slightly more experienced version of Who I was ,
And this is the only thing that defines Who I am.
To change
I learn
To learn
I listen
To listen
I had to change .
