Autumn in Phoenix
Vibrant reds and yellows
swaths of orange
streak the sky
in a valley of millions
sunset air pollution
at least its pretty
brisk breezes of Fall
crisp red apples
earthy cider wafts
of cloves and cinnamon
hay rides under warm blankets
seasonal pleasures
enjoyed by those further north
glad at least some get to experience them
this time of year
is an arborial fashion show
change in the air
the promise of snow
but not here
and I'm...

smokey earth
Colors randomly burst—
excitedly
flaunting
burnt orange
brownish blush
to ravages
of fiery red
Crisp air
sweeps
a promising

Peppering days

Tree Party
Autumn is one big rowdy party
All the colours play their part
One last hurrah before descending
to the monochrome of winter
Green is the host, calm and responsible
preparing food
cleaning the house
setting the stage for celebrations to come
Months of preparation
Golden yellow brings conversation
cheerful smiles
bubbling banter
sharing life’s moments
warmth and friendship
Casual contemplation
Orange strolls in with lights and music
electric energy
frenetic fun ...

Rustle of mists ascend ...
The whisper touches the skin, like a gentle wind,
the late evening shrinks to the point of contact,
cutting off a barely audible, restless moan from the lips,
and outside the window naked thin branches
stretch into the sky to the frosty twinkling stars -
autumn under the rustle of mists ascends to the throne ...
Still the heart melts with warmth, passion languishing,
gently shoulders glow dipped in his hands,
and no buckles restrictions, obstacles lips ...
heart breaks at the feet of the defeated bird, ...

Holding Its Breath
A portrait of Autumn
and the cider mill
with a golden crisp
Autumn leaves
and aging whiskey
of wispy winds
falling leaves
of purple and gold
from a barren branch
holding its breath
of cinnamon-scented mist
and aging whiskey
and the cider mill
with a golden crisp
Autumn leaves
and aging whiskey
of wispy winds
falling leaves
of purple and gold
from a barren branch
holding its breath
of cinnamon-scented mist
and aging whiskey

I was born in the twilight of centuries,
when the sun, tired from its journey,
sinks into the golden horizon
and the moon emerges shy and silvery.
O nature, wise and ancient,
you owe me the sighs of the trees,
and the murmur of the dancing brook.
The scents of wild flowers.
You owe me the whisper of the wind
that caresses the leaves and hair.
And the embrace of the ground, firm and welcoming,
that supports my uncertain steps.

Was listening to this and out came this
Please listen while reading, Thanks.
Pixies & fireflies hide in plain view
beneath a midnight sky tucked
underneath a Harvest moon
Yellow and orange painted leaves
dispatch and wave goodbye
with no sound to be heard
when passing by.
Raindrops fall and shift gears
washing death away another day
soon another year
loves dying...

Jagged Pirouette
A meditative line
designed
to find
the new forms of the soul,
Inscribed/infused
into
the
vibe of the scribe,
Ambrosia wine
imbibed,
from
an original vine,
Medicine -
for
this
trying time,
Where there
is
no
time to die,
No time
to
lie
Beneath a leaf
Falling
From
The
Sky.

First Rain
After months without,
it comes unapologetically —
greying skies had been hinting a couple of days,
the wind adding its signal of change,
dry ground licking its lips in anticipation,
believing reward for good behaviour, resilience and fruitful labour
was soon due.
My months
of faithful watering throughout the Summer,
viewed by plants as discriminatory and laced with ignorant bias,
are swept into history as the whole region is soaked,
equally —
generating gasping hours of sensual bliss ...
