Autumn Ecstasy
The surface of the stream possessed
an alien green glow.
From the reflection of vanishing trees
that anticipate snow.
Water cascading over slate rock
with a natural rush of glorious sound.
The water, a liquid ecstasy
free falling unbound.
The stream was in an
encompassing bliss.
To even find beauty
in the bold leaf carcass's.

ONE HEART (II)-(newly revised, much longer, expanded revision)
ONE HEART
BROKE SLOWLY
LIKE FALLING LEAVES
THE OTHER
SHOOK COLDLY
YET CLUNG
TO THE TREE
HERE LATE
IN THE SEASON
OF THEIR
NATURAL FALL
WITH WINTER S
DEEP CLOSURE ...

Autumn's Embrace
Because we are poets
We feel so much
Fall's sudden brisk temperature
Releasing us from summer's hold
Sudden rummaging through draws
Finding sweaters long tucked away
Sleep has been better
Morning's crisp and dog walking faster
I covered you up
Blanket askew
You lay exposed to my hungry eyes
Morning desire to have and to hold....

Fall Comes Alive
My heart stirs
Like new life forming
Taking wing within my
Imagination
I see the countryside changing
Gold and red and silver
Flashing in the trees
As I go flashing by
Inside my own interpretation
Of Rushs' Red Barchetta
With the very same blasting
In my ears
Nothing chases me though
Save my hearts wild beating
Egging me on to greater heights
In my discovery of the new season
And though new life stirs in my heart
Outside life is winding down
Waiting for the wintry blasts
The covering snow so deep ...

Autumn, a Painting of An Artist
Confusing thoughts in Fall, me ceased to stalk
worries into the heart, floated and stepped aside
wonders from afar spreading their smiles in a flock
along with October breeze, pleased to go for a hike.
Worries into the heart, floated and stepped aside
Autumn, enthroned in the soul empire, would set its fire
along with October breeze, pleased to go for a hike
walking paths trodden by shades of foliage, nothing dire.

Troubadour Nights
The campfire heat and moonlight
in midair fell in love
and went and danced all through the night
in consequence thereof.
The moonbeams were a pale gold
beyond the amber flames
because their space is very cold
in dark entropic shames.
Both owe their lives to caustic Sol
as their echoes flower
all through autumn's lengthening call
for more solar power!
A call increasing day by day
to which night children dance
where poet souls all love to play...
with comely maids from France!

Death of the Leaves
As my thoughts transform into dreams in a vast sky.
The barren trees lack our need to question why.
Although one tree bled scarlet berries,
invisible wounds very, from the severed leaves.
But the earth had seasons to achieve.
Leaves consumed in color naively fall,
joyous to be free.
They know not of decay, and that beneath a snow drift
they will stay.
In a starless abyss, an onyx void
Until buds of spring burst with joy.
The trees need not grieve.
For they have already forgotten
the death of the leaves.

That's When I Found Out That Autumn Has Arrived
One day, I saw a
leaf that was colored brown in
the river floating to me.

Mornings like these
My heart longs for peace
Craving solitude with every beat
I felt the breeze cling to me
The fire burned
Warming my hands
The warm coffee on my tongue
Mornings like these
Where I hear the trees
I sometimes remember my dreams
Craving solitude with every beat
I felt the breeze cling to me
The fire burned

Wine in the mountains
The bittersweet taste on my tongue
I continue on
Drinking my glass
As I bask
In the sunlight
The sun hits the mountain tips
A whole new kind of bliss
While my heart belongs to the sea
This is also quite pretty
I walked
And saw the evergreen trees
And aspen leaves
Yellow and green
What a dream
I continue on
Drinking my glass
As I bask
In the sunlight
The sun hits the mountain tips
A whole new kind of bliss
While my heart belongs to the sea

Roam
Beneath the fractures and fissures of my heart's truth
Preserved in my earth are the fossils of you.
From the age when you roamed me.
To a blissful echo of groans and screams.
Do we ever truly understand
the hearts archeology?
Requires belief in things you cannot see.
Buried marrow deep inside of me.
From the age when you roamed free.
Now I roam an earth on fire with
red, orange & yellow trees.
Candy apple red, burgundy and blood that beats.
Lemon yellow, rust and tangerine.
My eyes with a secret gleam. ...
