Returning Home
Nature welcomed me back today,
As if there were no such thing as time.
Alone.
I'm returning home.
To the October sun drenched path.
I indulged in the sweet thrash of the leaves
cascading through my minds womb of peace.
Searching for the annointed trees, seized with color's
joyous wrath.
The old red barn has now collapsed, a broken pile.
Like aging disintegrates memory's miles.
Will this be the final autumn of her life?
My heart bleeds, the beginning of the end's strife.
Like a chosen leaf,...
As if there were no such thing as time.

Autumn Ghost
The berries were in a dark scarlet mood.
Sour gore pierced by beak.
As foliage transforms, the bark broods.
Pinkish purple dawn.
Cotton candy blue day.
Iced cobalt evening.
Midnight grey with burned red twilight.
Onyx autumn night.
Transitions in a final September sky.
A silent glory in my eyes.
There were hovering trees, with ominous and oppressive shadowed leaves
Beyond the haunted sunflower patch.
Feeling devilish,
I open the wrought iron latch....

falling into restfulness
I was born under the summer sun
a June baby
barely
another few days & it would have been July
but those scorching days no longer appeal
not the way they did as a child
when school was out & we hit the farmyard at a dead run
eager to build forts between trees
play hide & seek
climb in the hayloft
bravely grab the rope & swing across
a secret thrill
as we sailed over the 2 story drop
eldest always keeping an eye on the babies
nothing could recall us to the boredom of being cooped up
until we heard...

autumn soul
try not
to romanticize me,
let my
autumn soul
go
the way
of the leaves,
i will rest
and come back
to you
in
another season.

coming wintertime
each step
leaves
a trace,
your habitation
is
impending
and consigned,
fame
conquers wings
and those
marked affairs,
your
dwelling place,
now
your eyes
watch
the sun
so worked,
waiting
for your long
and
heavy score.

Autumn of Defeat
How peculiar the dawn, blemished with its preternatural blue,
Of a parallel world, a cause and effect, for everything we do.
How many here's until we get to there's?
Or these days just to anywhere.
The big tree, was afflicted with a melancholic wavering,
That summer was just a flamboyant fling.
The leaves will bleed colors of fire.
Before the tree chooses to retire.
But first a chaos of soul tantalizing color competes.
The summer green of yesterday becomes a decaying obsolete.
The belief that the good lasts forever.

Autumn Equinox of a Ripened Season
I’m the hope of the next generation,
The seed that carries brilliance under the sun on a brilliant autumn day.
I’m the straggling dragonfly that lands on you in the warm autumn sun.
I hesitate only a moment, then I’m gone.
The urgency I have in my flight tells me I haven’t much time.
I search high and low for the perfect mate.
Will she be receptive to my advances?
No doubt she will, we’re to conceive the next generation!
We will tightly tether ourselves together in...

Falling
Cherry colored leaves have a magic relationship with autumn air.
They fall with a graceful nonchalance, not a single care.
They are meant to fall, they knew it all along.
No need to despair.
They cascade to a lonely unheard song.
In my heart there is a dusty tomb.
For the dead blooms.
For all the disillusioned pieces I hoard of you.
Gathered around bleeding crimsin soul shaped leaves.
A hint of beauty to ease the grief.
They fall with a graceful nonchalance, not a single care.
They are meant to fall, they knew it all along.

Inevitable Goodbyes
The dark path had eyes
for inevitable goodbyes.
Glossy fog haunted wet with rain.
Corpses of abandoned leaves
still struggle to proclaim.
Stark naked trees strangely look profound.
As they hover void of sound.
Does the unloved heart also start to decay?
With the evolution of autumn's death chilled days.
The foliage of memories that hung from my veins
succumb to their ghostly choreographed fall.
My soul an ancient burial ground for now sour days
that came before.
The best of days and those that drip with existential gore. ...

The Color of The Leaves
August has grown old.
Stretches it's elderly bones.
A haunted violin moans,
from somewhere in the unknown.
A melody with a solemn vow to steal my soul.
Until I properly atone.
Quiet raining of autumn leaves.
Cascading tumble, unabashed,
the raw beauty of death's grand finale.
Trees begged hot sun to lay on shady ground.
My thoughts also fall from brittle nerves.
Only the weary would know that quivering quiet that drowns.
Nature stains sorrow with deep vigor of color upon the trees.
The deeper my nostalgic ache, for all...

Goodness
It rises up
With the green smell
The scent of fresh Spring grass
Carries on in warm
Late Spring rains
Drenching the sky in
Muggy, humid
Glorious grey
And the burst
Of leaves on trees
And the kaleidoscope scene
Of dahlia and lantana
And a bless-ed myriad of color
Proudly, the harbingers of Summer
And the crack of thunder
In the black midsummer sky
And monsoon rain is made
Suddenly bright
