seasonal glance
she stood
there
wrapped up
in visions
and
contented
smiles
at the
cool
stone-lined
pathway
overlooking
the lazy
flowing creek,
unannounced
as
it passed by
those
pastel glazed
fall trees,
their
happy tears
marked
by each
magnificently
dropped
painted leaf
that
were readily
given up
to
the delight
of tourist
and
occasional
passing friends.

Forgotten
Perhaps
Tis time
To lay down my quill
As interest in my writing
Has fallen ill
As an Autumn leaf
Abandons the tree
Despite the colour
It has died
As it falls gently
Floating on the wind
Of destiny
Knowing
That it will soon
Be trodden under foot
And forgotten

October
I’ve been down, tonight
At river’s edge,
Where the leaves of trees
Are growing gold;
And I wonder, to myself,
If I’ve any pledge,
To ask of those sentries
The task of growing old.
At river’s edge,
Where the leaves of trees
Are growing gold;
And I wonder, to myself,
If I’ve any pledge,
To ask of those sentries
The task of growing old.

The Love of Fall
The love of fall,
the air is grisp,
It fills me with bliss
the smell in the air,
the cool breeze,
the trees releasing leaves
the love of fall,
tis my favorite time
early moring hours,
setting on the porch,
rocking in my chair
coffee in hand
as the sun rises
goosebumps cover my skin
as I take another sip

The Beginning of Autumn
Summer is over, the new season has begun.
It's my 2nd favorite season, I love the Autumn.
The leaves are changing color and falling from the trees.
The Autumn is a wonderful season and it is sure to please.
But one thing that I hate about Fall is that Winter is next to it.
When it comes to cold weather, I hate having to go through it.
I do love the Fall season because I think it's awesome.
Summer has ended and it's the beginning of Autumn.

mountain lake
early sunrise
stained
that quietness
of
morning hours,
in the
swirling
autumn sky,
footsteps
in between
leftover blooms,
suspended
and floating
proudly,
higher up,
silent beauty
whispers
of treasures
and solitude
moments
by
day's applause,
there,
her image
and
graceful heart
lovingly embrace
close
to the breast,
brilliant
and shadowed,
long, deep
waters
laid between
heavy stoned
of shimmering ...

colder weather
that sweet hum,
that whispering
song
of the soft
evening
evades my open
window,
such
a gentleness
derived
with pleasure,
cool
upon
my thoughts,
the quiet
reflection,
shorter days
willing
to give
themselves up
for sacrificial
passages,
now,
colder weather
dresses
earlier
in the mornings,
as strings
of
broken fires
haunt
the asylum
in each
hearth.

Feeling Fruity In Linton Gardens!
The Blackberries
Some hung forlornly
Off withering branches
The others , meanwhile
Hung heavy after
September deluges
Some
Ripe, and ready
For the picking
Others fallen into the long grass
And still more
Decayed, yet still attached
To their mother
The rest
Not quite yet ready
I gathered those
that fell easily into my eager fingers
My right hand
Now blooded, and reddened
By the flowing ripeness
I shall feast tonight
On their succulence
As my tastebuds
Moisten...

as time drops
the high up
mountains
begin to feel
the firstness
of the change,
those
autumn days
flow downward,
leaves, trickling
slow at first,
beginning
to gather
momentum,
soon the tide
of dropped
leaves swell
into a beautiful
explosion,
none exempt
from
the cascading
overflow,
covering city
and countryside
the same,
golds, reds
and amber
wash pass,
the breeze
collects
it's toll,
the leaves
will stand, dance
like ...

Summer/Autumn
Summer slipped out
sometime after midnight;
Left the door
open wide…
I couldn’t convince her to stay
No matter how I tried.
Autumn arrived in elegance,
With her own
offerings of intimacy;
But my skin still tingles
from Summer’s bite,
And all the pleasures
she gave to me.

I want to die in these hills
There is something inside me
That knows this is where I should be
In this curve in the many hills
The Blue mountains there in the distance
The world has been ending my whole life
But things feel as they always have here
The world goes on and on and on
And I know I belong here deep inside
One of the resident freaks and happily so
It's starting to feel like Pompeii in a way
The wine is flowing freely more than before
They've torn out the fruit orchards
Just to plant their soil destroying vines
They come here to drink...
