Lost
My eyes became balloons
When I targeted the prize
My heart grew the size of moons
Kidnapping my breath like a child
On the brink to become baptized
My childhood flashed
In brief moments of elation
So many smiles cracked my face
Surrounded by the annoyance
Of delivery vexation
The price was right
Avoiding a crater in my wallet
Though my childhood is priceless
I was more than happy to swallow it
Daydreams and dreams at night
Playing hooky for just a bite
Tournaments with friends...

Spilled Oil On The Asphalt Or America
People avoid it
Walking past hurriedly
As if they linger it will
Infect them
I stop to look at it
The rainbow colors
Caught in the sun
Like some ancient ocean
Bubbling with life
Change your angle
And the colors shift
Some water mixed in
Makes borders between
Together yet separate
An elixir that may never properly mix
Sad ...
Just oil and water
and no one wants to even take a look ... ..
Distant Speaker blares - (Spill in the parking lot)

Dead To Me
The stench of your composure
Sealed your coffin of closure
The tea party is over
Every bone has reaped exposure
That gurgle you speak
Which you think is interpreted to me as speech
Dive to their deaths off your beak
Drowned in your bullshit creek
Every advance you make is cold
A candle snuffed out but never old
Always ventured-never sold
Guilty ridden-predatorily sowed

Empty Glasses
This room full of glasses half full
a closer look reveals each
glass is leaking on its way to
empty
In the darkest corner
an emaciated dog licks
the remnants of lives from
the floor
We used to run in the meadow
hiding in the tall grass
forever friends and first kisses
with a future at arm's length
Now only the sandy grit
gargling the fragments of broken
hourglasses, vomiting only
bloody memories
Am I there on the ground,
a life leaked upon an
unforgiving floor, salvation
for...

Less and less, I like being near people
The café was full of people talking about
How expensive everything is
Buy less is my answer, prices will fall
Until you can afford to buy things you like
To a reduced price
Businesses react to demands by putting up
To rake in when the going is favorable
Wait till the market is sated, then pay less
Don’t be a slave to trends here today
Adverts tell lies about their great product
Nothing ever works, they say it does
If not, whatever it is, it normally breaks easily ...

The Middle East
When the persecuted became persecutors
chaos followed; what a mess the Middle East is
Both sides of the conflict like killing one other
up pops more fanatics with eager knives
If you are an Arab Christian, your life is short
if you are a Muslim, they will give you the key
to London and the neighboring locals
Is there such a being as a Christian Jew?
There are Orthodox Jews, men with braided
hair, wearing black hats and dark suits
round glasses make them look scholarly
Their women stay in the background when ...

Bitter Harvest
As I take a bite from this fruit
the flavor is blatantly ash.
Left with a craving on my tongue.
No, I could not hold back the tears.
I have nothing, yet you take more.
And you hate when I start to weep
because it makes you uneasy.
I wish I could just disappear.
So, what are we cultivating?
Seems we only tend when we clash.
And I never get enough sleep
as I constantly live in fear.
I worry about the backlash
of what you sowed as I will reap.

I was back in my village
had a plastic bag in my hand
looking for a bin to throw the bag away
in the house I once lived
An officious-looking young adult
I knew when he was a boy
told me I couldn't leave the bag there
I walked past a group of women
they saw me and whispered
since no one called my name, I walked on
at the old part of the village
I saw a café that looked like a living room
I asked for a glass of wine
A pleasant-looking old lady brought
a bottle, she called young wine
bottled...

We get tired of his face, which is a mirror
into his soul shows an obsession with self

best to be feared when love fails
