Poems About Diabetes Seeking Honest Critique

I'm not sure why sugar should get so much attention.
It's just a taste, and yet if you think about how much corn syrup is in really just about everything, it is totally amazing.  And this has gotten to be such a problem that diabetes has become a national shame in the United States.

the way you make me feel
you tease and taunt
and push me back
and act like it's no deal.

All I want to do
is have you

She shot up in the kitchen

Measuring food, counting calories, and the freaking scale
Was discouraging me, driving me crazy, I still feel like a whale

November 2009 blood tests revealed a significant drop in my glucose number
