Amongst the pain & strife
An illusion of a directors thoughts
Cesspool in Eden
Pleasing the studio boss
Artificial in everything that's seen
Pictures of beauty
Reality is a dream
Never think more then you know
A testament to your image
Look your best, before the show
Wading in a shallow pool
Drink it up like a fool.
Trees a plenty and lost inside.
A forest, crazies, come to hide.
Hollywood, shining bright.

All the Pools Are Sparkling
At Mistwood Gardens
or Birchstream Meadows
Or The Club at Hunter Ridge (which sits between a gas station and a KFC)
all the apartments are luxury
all the pools are sparkling
and the fabulous amenities
like an on site laundry room
provide the lifestyle you deserve!
Come home to Random Name Farms
located just a short gunshot away from gang territory
where the pools - when they are not closed -
are packed with peeing kids
and the drunk adults
blast amelodic profanity- laced music
until close to midnight

Today
Oh what drab, colorless roils drape the sky
As the sky, ashen, grey faced the sun
Clouds billowing
Spread out as tho' to compass all
The sun, the moon, and stars do hide
Those lamps of heavens reaffirming light
Tho' not darkest all -
Not as dark as familiar men's souls
Now conspiracy and conceit do creep
As knavery, treachery, like the worm doth crawl
Burrowing archly in soft rot
Not as men who on stout legs stand
Thin voices hiss the birthing of death
So discourse this discordant band
Full of hubris and cold...

Silent scenarios in thick and worn verses
yellowed by the jaundice of an aged fool
screaming from the gallows of my pen with
shadows in pantomime from the inkwell
thirsting with an ephemeral echo in the
dark's chorography longing to be a scripted
mime whispering pathos, but it ain't my
