It's not always about being the hero, sometimes it's about

Selfless Universal Love
love,
not a pleasant feeling,
but a grounded tenet of creative renewal.
living communities
on planet earth:
organisms, ecosystems,
tribes and families,
are identities fostering relationships
with other beings and surrounding systems.
the heart of love is equilibrium.
self-interests in balance with needs of others.
when our deepest desire
is happiness for others,
something more universal
than private feelings emerges:
essential facets of living,
sense of fulfillment....

To will a thimble
It was her last wish
in a velvet box, with silver clip
magic was its dimpled thrust
to bend the thread of life as such
bring love or wealth, embroidered stitched
a silver dimpled one time wish
but as the lawyer read the will
there was just one codicil
each relative gave up a gasp
requisites, that were her last
the digit must be a perfect fit
that points the way to such a gift

Poison Wells
Fixations to relation
We speak the same language of retaliation
Revolting against the establishment in theory
Without the means to make a change
Uttering clever ways to lodge complaints in unofficial petitions
Incite a riot on the grounds of self righteous seditions
What’s wrong and what is right when it’s all a matter of how you quote the narrative
Half empty gauges of our lack
Conditioned by self robbery
How do we take our perceptions back?
Tell me what to believe
When our goods and evils are relegated to the roles of truth...

Perspective Of The Invisible
humans .
we think
we’re so important.
in evolutionary
time,
we’re newcomers.
on the geologic
clock,
we’re a few seconds.
without a
ginormous
magnifier,
on the galactic
timeline,
we’re invisible.

Reclaiming My Digital Odyssey
In the realm of cyberspace, I took my stand,
A journey on Facebook's digital land.
With friends and family, a decade's embrace,
In this virtual world, I found my place.
But storm clouds gathered, toxicity grew,
A web of turmoil, emotions askew.
I pondered my path, sought guidance from near,
To face this dilemma, confront the fear.
Alternatives considered, but none felt right,
So back to the familiar, I turned my sight.
Forced to stay in discomfort's domain,
I shifted my viewpoint, sought strength to gain.
I balanced the scales,...

Blades of Grass Tipped Wide
Blades of grass now tipped wide
stood a garden upped and died
bones of yesterday's memories
now winds for the silent butler
and a deserted old parking lot
with echoes from the asphalt
pulling up yams with age spots
for a reality taxidermy TV show
stood a garden upped and died

new ears of corn
a trochee
[No. 10 from The Children’s Collection]
“Nature gives man corn but he must grind it; God gives man a will but
he must make the right choices.”―Fulton J. Sheen
when the ears of corn are ripening and their silk-thread teeth come smiling,
let me frolic through the cornfield―in the cornfield let me play.
i shall tip-toe past the scarecrow while the birds he is beguiling,
lest i scare the birds―lest i should too soon scare the birds away.
one for maggot, one for john crow, one for cutworm,...

breaking eve
i understand
everybody loves
gazing at fireworks
letting champagne
slide down throats
to quench a year
of unspoken thirst,
i did not grow
with a firm belief
but my eye only
sees colour igniting
the floor of somewhere
bigger than all of us,
i hear my great uncles
voice humming deep
inside my eardrums
reminding me how
we are many stars
scattered in the
sight of god,
i cannot sit here
saying i believe
in any gods
but i...
