Shining
I've had stars lacerated from my eyes.
Dreams slaughtered in my mind.
My heart lodged in a barren winter.
But below the marrow,
My soul of fragility
somehow sparkles with possibility.
My wounds shine.
Each daily war,
I survived.
Dreams slaughtered in my mind.
My heart lodged in a barren winter.
But below the marrow,
My soul of fragility
somehow sparkles with possibility.
My wounds shine.
Each daily war,
I survived.

A Wellspring of Worth
Sprung from gathered strength
rare seeds bloom in vibrant hues
precious are the meek

Lost in the Twilight of your Smile
I'm an intense man
It's taken years to lighten up
Celebrating my dimples
I'm told I have
I studied your smile
In the hazy twilight
Emanating your glow
Maybe I'll succeed
Wouldn't that be something
It's taken years to lighten up
Celebrating my dimples
I'm told I have
I studied your smile
In the hazy twilight
Emanating your glow
Maybe I'll succeed
Wouldn't that be something

Hello, friends

Around midday
For those on the front lines, this must be an unimaginable endurance trial, fraught with constant fear of mortality. To those working in the labs and hospitals, thank you. To those working in the stores and shipping, thank you. To those working in various departments of utilities and sanitation, thank you. Thank you will never be enough to express how much it means to the rest of us, but it is all we can offer as you keep everything going in this time of trials and loss.
We have an obligation to stay safe, use every precaution available and to...

Helios, Helios
When he woke up on Jupiter Three
There were two suns to see
He could not believe Helios had a twin
Where to look, where to begin?
But, wait, in the middle of each
Brownish circles and darker targets within
How could that be?
If he dared get closer, would he get burned
And into nothingness disappear?
He who dares, wins
Oh, but to the touch, so soft and creamy
The lights from each did not blind him
The targets harder and even more welcoming
How not to lose yourself and get closer and closer
Never mind...

Blue, Bird
(The Blue Bird)
Kittens do not like rain.
It's not warm-wet
Like their mother's tongue.
So do not make me wait
Under your barely a porch-roof
For long.
Haste yourself home.
I've brought your coat back.
It's my salvation still
As then.
'Tho it's a sad animal hide
Soaked in gray sky-blood
As cold as death.
But I watched a blue bird
Brave the elements
Thrown ahead of it.
Sorcery; the skies brewed
Angry, for clouds have no arms
Nor legs.
Only jealous breath.

courage
there is dignity still. yes there is courage
sadness peaks and overpours it must be expressed
let notes of powerful beauty explain
bombs and guns can not silence the soul of the brave
the blood of humanity will cry out to the heavens, hear the Ukraine
rising on the winds to reach the hearts of others
yes, I'm still here, feel my pain
in the tall of my back I am speaking to the downtrodden and afraid
music soothing the frayed spirits
for a moment transported to better days
in an instant all the joyous days spent playing...

My Life Through My Eyes... (Proverbs)
I am stiff, sore, my ankle is a tad swollen, but not as painful as it was hours ago.
I surprised myself on 11-06-22 with sheer determination after fracturing my right ankle that resulted in a medical leave of absence for six weeks from my Nursing Administrative duties, and my second place of employment as a Behavorial Health Counselor, the setback to run in Ohio, a marathon, which I have not missed in years, and physical strain and pain when training for the New York marathon under limited mobility of a leg.
Then the physical therapy sessions three times a week,...

Silver Linings
A Quatern
Because every storm runs out of rain
The dark will not last a long time
Eventually you will feel that the pain
Will subside into the back of your mind
But it will serve as a reminder
Because every storm runs out of rain
You’ll have to be your own pathfinder
Even if you go against the grain
At times you’ll feel like you might go insane
When the hard days seem to be so long
Because every storm runs out of rain
In the end when you become more strong

Thanksgiving: Mexican Style
Thanksgiving come and gone
Day of joy and delight
Anger exist
Pushed down to the core
To celebrate family
Do whatever it takes
to keep your cool
Kill the the anger inside you
By doing something
Insane and Crazy

No Claim Of Divinity
I am no divine, nor royal heir,
My skin is bare, no gems to wear.
No holy rays from above I see,
No heavenly light shining on me.
Yet still, I rise with unyielding power,
A mortal soul with a fearless tower.
With dreams to chase and fears to face,
A spirit that roars with unbridled grace.
No throne to claim, no trumpet's sound,
But my voice echoes, unafraid and unbound.
In this world, I claim my space,
A life to live, a purpose to embrace.
Let gods and kings boast of their fame,
Their glory fades, their power...
My skin is bare, no gems to wear.
No holy rays from above I see,
No heavenly light shining on me.
Yet still, I rise with unyielding power,
A mortal soul with a fearless tower.

Getting Over You
I’m just about over you, it’s sad to say
To think I longed for you day after day
Our passion amplified and on replay
I’m longer dreaming of us as our bodies swayed
I’ve pulled myself together, I’m in a much better way
Working to forget the love I thought you should repay
There’s no more reason to get you to stay
No more reason to envision us as we laid
No more reason to work and try to persuade
You to come back to me and ease my heartache
Leaving you was like the sharpest blade
That cut through my heart and made me afraid
That I...
