The Job Interview
She sat in her chair fidgeting. She sized up the room and saw the men looking poised and confident. She wondered why she was there. She had done her research and knew that there had never been a woman hired for the position she was there to interview for. Thoughts of doubt flooded her mind. It was pointless. Its not that she wasn't qualified. Qualification was one thing that she wasn't lacking. Years of putting in her dues had paid off in that regard. This was a man's world. Although she had found her place, it was a place that those men were comfortable with. This was different. She was...

Arbitrary Regrets!
By Stanley Collymore
It's quite ridiculous, futile and
likewise counterproductive
to basically spend one's
time simply regretting something which
didn't happen; more than likely, actually
never would have realistically occurred
and in the basically, very unlikely event
that it did happen, would actually have
in all probability been, unquestionably,
a consummate disaster; and, crucially
whose actual appeal to you long after
this non-achievable event, is naturally
your quite fanciful or even delusional ...

The Invited Guest
One moonlit night I was in my convertible driving through the city of Las Vegas, NV
After losing a lot of cash and getting into a fight with my wife
I went to see a silent film for mature audiences only
As I was leaving the city limits, heading back home in California
I saw a hitchhiker waving me down
He looked mousey, a little disheveled but I felt bad for him
He told me his name was Sid
I asked him where he was headed
He said, “Anywhere you’re going, I’m fine with.”
I thought that was odd
He told me that he was coming from a desert grave...

Twilight Passed
As I stand at the edge of a cliff I find myself terrified of an ugly truth staring me in the face.
To jump off this cliff would be a terrible disgrace.
Despite the pain that has claimed sanctuary in my brain I prefer to move forward.
Today, I am just as appreciative of this puzzle called life as the thought of it's climax to erase the strife.
I beg you to listen to what I have to say in the hope that it can help you no matter the way.
It's better to suffer with the hope of a reprieve then it would be to end early with an untimely leave.
Brain cancer was hard, OCD...

Anxious Poetics
Spun of sugared fables and salted truths
I can easily fall prey to Anxiety's
penitent thoughts.
Watching monochrome yesterday's
and the million tomorrow's
that already haunt.
Feeding Melancholy laughter and smiles
in avoidance of cursed uncertainty
to be Apathy's pitiful child.
Becoming Happy's pretty 'lil liar
while living on stale breaths of courage
'til the taut corset of butterflies flee.

Being Good Humans
Wisdom
Like pillars of humanity and understanding
Wisdom is a guiding light in a life
We see the world, we see the truth
Able to discern what is wrong and what is right
Courage
Like a guardian at the gate of our minds
Courage stands strong ready to defend
With inner strength and steady determination
The heart’s fortress will be resilient
Justice
Like a moral compass showing us true north
We’ll learn the principles of fairness and rightness
Allowing us to make decisions in virtue and equity
Falling in alignment...

Colors Of The Stars
Suppose it was a starry night
But all the stars did not burn bright
Because some of them wore green or blue
And me, myself took center stage
Declaring that it wasn't I
Who thought that it was right to pry
And mettle in someone's private life
Causing all kinds of disturbing strife
Pardon me if I go incognito
Sick to death of all that doesn't matter
Perhaps you do not even know me
Amongst all of the likes and follows
You must be aware I'm not a quitter ...

Resilience
Adversity should help sharpen the mind
…and character
The obstacles we face in life shouldn’t scare us
…or beat us into submission
But they should offer an opportunity to learn
…and refine our skills
The storms that lay ahead
Regardless of the vessel we sail on
May seem overwhelming
Stressful or even taxing at times
But it is really within our own reaction and choices
Where the true power lies
To cultivate resilience in my journey
I must think of growth and development
Recognizing that adversity is a harsh...

21st Century Feudalism - crucially alive and kicking, in a monarchical Britain!
By Stanley Collymore
Isn't it high time to permanently
dump this whole rotten circus
and very seriously positively
move on? In all truthfulness, it's very
embarrassing actually, watching all
this so unquestionably, thoroughly
nonsensical and quite undeniably
preposterous kowtowing and, as
well, obviously quite sickeningly
sycophantic behaviour, actually
crucially, relayed automatically
by people, who most asininely
see, and similarly pathetically
regard themselves, as adults;
yet very brazenly and equally ...

Me First
So I say, me first
Not rehearsed or rebuttalled,
Somebody say “me first”
I say Me First, not in spite, just divine insight…
Because we black 365 live!
In 2024 366 because we true to this!
Somebody say “me first”
Not rehearsed or rebuttalled, me first
Not in spite, just divine insight
I say Me First…
Because among us are allies,
Who can relate to betrayal and lies,
I say Me First though,
Because we all have a common enemy in this war for your spirit,
Your inheritance…
Because the charge is for all those, ...
Not rehearsed or rebuttalled,

Getting Unstuck
Are you alone?
On this blank page.
White is as scary.
As black is a blade.
Put a letter.
Maybe two.
See what happens.
To inspire you.
There you go.
And It's only a start.
Do you feel it?
That is your heart.
It's getting easier now.
Don’t you think?
A moment ago,
Was just a blink.
Your muse is back.
It was gone for a minute.
I know you were scared.
Dive back into it.
Sometimes it is hard.
To start again.
A gift is not a gift.
If you do not share it my friend.
On this blank page.
White is as scary.
As black is a blade.
Put a letter.
Maybe two.
See what happens.
To inspire you.
There you go.
And It's only a start.

A while For The Wise
It is wise to dive headlong into the wild, close the blind eyes and open the clear mind,
it's wise to rise from the cluttered mind, infested with recycled clichés
and mindset and outworn rites..
Rise and stretch the feet that are turned frozen inside a cold seat, a mechanical heat,
won't ever warm the cold heart, sun is your hearth, lounge in the open airs
and gather as much as you can, while time is wide and the plains get greener and flat,
decked with poppies and daffodils and daisies, and so many fragrant seedlings.,
where little...
