The Art of Becoming Who I'm Not
I've mastered the art of mimicry,
Bending and twisting, so you'd see
The person you want, not who I am,
A reflection caught in someone else’s plan.
I wear the masks you’ve tailored tight,
Changing my colours in your light.
But the weight of this act has grown too vast—
I’ve lost myself in shadows cast.
You think you know me, but it's a lie,
A crafted version built to satisfy.
I shape-shift, I mold, I rearrange,
A puzzle of fragments that feel so strange.
In your eyes, I’m whole, I’m sound, ...

Open
Like striking out burnt matches
Like arms reaching out
Like a quilt made up of patches
Like a never-ending doubt
Like an always-over sunset
Like a wave stretched on the shore
Like an all-consuming debt
Like “I couldn’t love you more”
Like drug-muffled panic
Like a tear-squeezed throat
Like hurt that is satanic
Like drowning just to float
So I'll send out this plea
All this just to say,
How could you turn your back on me
How could you walk away

crossroads
notifications like a wink in the dark
I keep a letter in the back of my bottom drawer
read every syllable of your elegant hand
twice over and I'll accept this friend request
could it be coincidence? are you who she sent
to meet me at the crossroads this time?
did just a thought of the past open the door?
the fear left and you stepped across the threshold
I know why I buried it
I never looked back over my shoulder
uncovered dirty truths within myself
now I can't help but to wonder
if all of that trauma was completely...

The veterans
JD Vance and Tim Waltz have in common
they have served and can call themselves
veterans, which has a sacred meaning
They joined to serve and defend America's
values of freedom and democracy
We know that for the two above, it was
about further education, to join but too long
and get out when the going got tough
Still, they are veterans who served.
I think of the men from the many small towns
unknown by most people, they joined and
was sent to Vietnam, fighting a war in
the name for freedom and democracy ...

the Gaza hostages
Gaza's hostages
When IDF tried to free six of Hamas hostages
holed up in a tunnel, the six, two women and
four men were found dead
three questions arise.
When were the hostages shot?
During the firefight?
Or were they sacrifices?
we know that the vile regime
the Israel regime is capable of anything foul
Hamas could have murdered
the hostages to stop the IDF from searching
for more hostages

Nuclear in Norway
Should the Russian army occupy Northerner Norway, they know the way
Last time they came and helped chase the Nazi army out and freed us was in 1945
Russia was popular after the war, Stalin was called Uncle Joe
This scared the USA it quickly sent the Marshal aid
there was a geo-political shift despite open borders
Relentless propaganda made Russians into monsters, but despite this, the borders were kept open

the platitudinizes
I have woken up to the world we inhabit
so, much double-speak, self-interest, egotism
and tame excuses make me physically ill
For many, it is about getting the upper hand
how to lure money out of the innocent
The law is ordered, and the guilty are often
forgiven by those they swindled.
We see through them, they are not willing
to help anyone unless it is beneficial for
them, then demonstrate their kindness
so the whole world can see their greatness
there is a greedy content to their action.

we are horrified
We are horrified
So, we are outraged by the Gaza genocide
I have a doctor's appointment at eight tomorrow
morning that is important if I miss this,
I might wait
for several weeks for a new one.
we see the pictures of Gaza, we are horrified
but our holiday has been postponed until
the end of August
Do we wonder why Muslim countries are not
doing anything for Gaza, but that means
taken a risk, but we convey our misgiving
as long as nothing more is needed
So, we are outraged by the Gaza genocide

An ache that agonizes.
An ache that keeps me awake.
She fills me, with vibrant colors.
She draws me in.
She loved me first.
I didn't know.
She came to meet me.
I didn't show.
Uncertainty defines, she, & I. Or her & me.
I think too much about her.
What is there, outside of her?
So many things!
She's exciting
My world is black with her.
Black scribbles found all around me.

the miracle doctor
The Miracle
The doctor was shaking his head
and said it would soon be over
His mother cried
The boy remembers a darkened
room and whispering voices
Then it was morning
sunlight reached the boy's bed
The boy woke up and said he was
hungry and asked for breakfast
The doctor applauded himself
and said, I knew he would be ok
No one wanted to know about
his travel in a wonderous world
His mother said no to speak of
this, because it was morbid
The doctor was shaking his head
and said it would soon be over
His mother cried

How Many Deaths?
Desert sands are burning,
A fire fueled by hatred & fear
So many lives & cities destroyed
And for what?
"How deaths will it take till we know
That too many people have died?"(*)
Meanwhile...
Mother just wants to feed her family
Children want to play in peace
And meet their friends at school
And know that they have a future
Isn't it sad when the children
are more adult
Than the leaders of ancient lands ...
