Au revoir
Another page is turned
Devastated, drained and to say the least, hurt.
On my own again at the winter of my life.
Nothing to look forward to
No help in sight, no family to rely on
How does one cope with this?
I don't drink, I don't do drugs
Hell, I'm not rich enough to ease my pain with these things.
Future looks bleak, for now.
I've always been one to get back on my feet stronger.
This time feels different....

One night Mike and Ike got into a fight
Over a Hot Tamale that they both liked
Ike punched Mike dead in his Hershey kisser
For trying to Debo him like Tiny "Zeus" Lister
A red Twizzler is what Mike definitely ain't
Swung his Mr. Goodbar and made Ike faint
The taint of their friendship lasted til Payday
Then they solicited the Snikers' Bar like any other day

I want to demoralize your bones.
Dig up your dreams and
extract calcium from desert sands.
Feed your hopes,
cut your braids with a razor.
Clean the bitter corners
of your filthy mouth
and the remnants of sleep in the eyes.
Crystallize the pain
of the gallbladder.
Roll on the floor and
crumble in the dust of the ages.
Mirror who you weren't!
