Living within your means is a different measure to each individual
Because excessive desires can lead down darker paths
If we want to experience peace and tranquility
Then we should practice control
If you try to keep up with the Joneses
You’ll find that this is nothing but a fleeting illusion
It’s as if material things won’t bring happiness
It rather creates an ending hunger
Always craving for more

Sanctuary in Shadows
In the heart of revelry, beneath Bourbon's neon glow,
I danced, amidst spirits of joy and tales of woe.
Big Daddy's, our stage a world both fierce and fair,
A realm where shadows danced in the sultry air.
Thirty years on that floor, where dreams and demons meet,
Witness to lives that twirled on the edge of bitter and sweet.
The veil thinned, revealing energies dark and wild,
Yet around me, a sanctuary guarded me tenderly and mild.
Guarded by unseen forces, in the night's embrace,
I moved untouched, through time and space.
The abyss beckoned,...

Oracularity
The French gave us the word cliché
and so to honor Gallic grace
let's urge cliché to be passe
so no more discourse will debase
from any verse or any pen
where some foreseeable trauma
repeats its ugly life again
to flare into a melodrama,
or kindle more calamity
with ideation raised anew
antipodal to amity
which most of us already knew...
but still would not associate
a lack of tact with repeat fate.

Rusty Ralph
I met him on a dancefloor
Rusty Ralph was his name
I didn’t even find him attractive
And yet I invited him in all the same
He had a shiny bald head
With slightly yellowing teeth
Overgrown nails to accompany
The chaotic grin between his cheeks
I’m pretty sure he took advantage
And became a gaslighter soon enough
Tried convincing me, it was me all along
Who tried to take him home from the gaff
I should’ve ended it much sooner
But would I listen, Of course I would not
As always, I like to push...

and perceived reality
somewhere between
technology and biology
all of us so long lost at sea
here in this great tempest of imbalances
my mind flew long ago amuck
so tired of struggling
against my true nature s grain
in trying to achieve
any semblance of an even keel
in this mad hatter s culture and society
i don t even know what i think
or feel anymore
ordered systems strangle me
yet diverse freedoms entangle me
all of us so caught up
overwrought
in never ending...

somewhere between

My 30th year reunion is coming real soon
Majority I went to high school with are dead
Reminds me of some after school special, I presume
I can be next before this reunion transpires
Phlegmatic, I never was
Stress I carry in my jaw, my ass is on fire
A chemical relationship I had with my friends
Most of those goons have departed
They’d often asphyxiate me similar to The Bends
Domestic violence occurred often
Love was a fist in their lives
Now you see why their all in coffins
Screw the event, I'm going out to...
