tenderness teases away

Porcelain Smiles
She sat amongst her collection
of dolls with porcelain smiles
Tightened bows on their dresses
and brushing hair, of various styles...
Ribbons from her hair made a sash for one
threads from her hem to stitch up some
She sung in whispers, to her silent children
kissing their cheeks as she slowly rebuilt them
Molly her favorite, with a missing hand
lost in a war with her brother gone mad
This one she cradled just a bit longer
as it seemed to cling, a tiny bit stronger
No other had a crack, though many the miles ...

I gave my all
Oh please! why are you so fucking blind
drowning in a sea your certainty
the cost stretching to eternity
I offered my all
you weeping as I fall
the goodbye so deeply hidden
beneath sweet words never meant to please
living was just an alternative to dying
with fears and love, I'm driven to my knees
slowly standing, I look down and smile
you'll never see my tears
you missed my heart
I am not make of clay nor blood and bone
behold the obsidian of my soul
and I just laugh
"it was never meant to be"

Writing You Into Poetry
When you broke my heart
I didn't know what to do,
So I wrote you into poetry.
Heart break stories cut so much deeper
When they're true.
The pain was worse than anything I'd ever known.
A wounded pen heading the way,
A gentle landing to soften the blow.
I wrote my words ever so precisely,
To extract the pain I felt in my heart.
Trying not to remember how badly it hurt,
the moment I fell apart.
Letting it fall on paper,
Learning to forgive myself,
without regret.
Finally at peace in my soul ...
Writing you into...

I am wishing on a star within the sky
That would light up your face
I am writing a song to help days go by
Something to help brighthen your day.
Tried to kiss you to make it right
But you just pushed me so far away
And told me goodnight.
I can't make you want or love me
Though truly I wish I could try,
I could wait till morning
