Deceivers
Hit me with your worse
While I’m still going strong
Hit me with a love that’s a curse
When life just can’t go wrong
I’ll be there before you can text
Although my phone is never on
Telepathy is how I connect
These feelings are just that strong
And I, I will do, I will do
Everything to and for you
I will wrestle with death
Until he has nothing but good health
Drain you of ego and fill you with myself
Although I’m a thousand miles away, you’ll swear I never left
Destiny says it’s you for...
While I’m still going strong
Hit me with a love that’s a curse
When life just can’t go wrong

Confession
Lauryn sat at an outdoor table in the Grapevine Bar, a place she’s known from her college years. It was always quiet on mid-afternoon weekdays. She liked knowing a place that had been essentially the same since before she was born.
“Just water for now. I’m meeting someone,” she said. She felt a quiver in her voice. Her heart pounding in her chest. She had rehearsed this a thousand times, but now she wondered if she would even be able to form the words.
A woman in her late 30s opened the door and squinted as her eyes adjusted to the sunlight from inside the darker...

A false pretense of sisterhood
With age comes wisdom,
maybe small relief
in unmooring harbored secrets
that help to ease into
a new plane
of existence
of being mindful
Personally, I try(hope) for
selflessness,
but am ok with
practicing generousity
of the smallest kind.
Striving for self improvement
while healing my own heart's wounded scars
Becoming lighter,
so grace is what flourishes,
while still giving my darkness
its own due time
I understand...

Plum (What Can You Say?)
I stare into the mirror
wide eyed and confused
is this not my reflection?
some days I see beauty
(do you wish that you loved me?)
some days I see trash
(fight the fact. create a mark.)
What can you say? My love...
now that everything has come to a close
you turned the page and I'm left alone
sinking into the darkness of my mind
we all decided to break me in the end
crippled with an aching
I don't know how to mend
my treasure in your safety
I stumble along the crumbled
edge of...
