Sympathy for a Bee
On Father’s Day, we all hopped into the family van
It would be a two hour drive down to the beach
As I drove through the long and winding highway
My wife yelled “A BEE!’ somewhere out of reach
“Bee still” I told my wife trying to joke about it
Thinking the little guy is more scared us than her of him
“Leave it alone” I said as I kept my eye on the road
I’ve talked to bees before and I’d have to do it again
About an hour later we stopped for quick break
(The dog had an accident and had to let her out)
Meanwhile as the kids cleaned...

The Honey Bunch
Apologies, bold daffy dill,
it's another rainy day you face
when what I think you'd rather embrace
were sunbeams taming winter chill.
But bloom you must, and bloom you will,
to set a standard for the pace
of flowers getting to first base
in vernal pollination thrill
wherein the bees showcase some skill
in load logistic micro space
with stamen like steeples in the chase
for pollen loads intent to spill...
so she, her flight path will retrace,
to bee no springtime charity case!

hum
compelling notes amuse me
seeking the melody I hear
the source of it, nature herself
green humming quietly in the background
blue floating above
yellow lighting on my soul making it shiny
the trees gently sing songs of joy, songs of sorrow
they record history and if you're listening retell it
busily tending the flowers below
shading them, so their tender blooms don't burn
the flowers sing along with the others in soprano
sweet little voices, of angels
accompanied by the hummingbirds
carefully delivering pollen...

don’t get him started, because
bees are doubtless imperative for the
planet so long as they don’t sting me, damn it,
the old bloke in the pub says,
however, that he really doesn’t like wasps

Exequies for a Bee
(twenty-eight of 30 - Official DUP NaPo/GloPoWrimo 2020)
Found a Bee last night
on its last leg
of its short existence.
Got me thinking. . .
a lone(r) individual
now no longer
pollinating his
surroundings, unable
to serve his Queen,
accepts his fate &
waits for the gate
to open.
This Bee lied sideways
barely moving
on my bedroom floor.
i would have set outside
but i knew he would not
survive, so i tried
to make his upcoming
demise
as comfortable as ...

Honeycomb Hideout
she wore poetry with no panties as
her verbiage dripped ambrosial.....ephemeral
hinting at her scented garden...an invitation of sorts
to come and tickle her fancy
bold and demur
a daring woman indeed
she dripped again....eclectic...elegant
in holographic ink stains
gave me an esoteric strip show...facetious in falsetto
while I moon-gazed at the phases of her Luna
igniting a particular buzz...
got me wanting to finger-part her
lotus's fuzziness..spread enriched...
