On My Farm
My wife began singing yesterday morning
within one hour, all of our livestock perished
she's tone deaf and damn proud of it
within the hour a cow, a pig & horse from out of nowhere came to our front door
there were all standing on their hind legs
the cow had a crowbar
the horse had a sickle
the pig had a gun
they confronted me and asked to see my wife
i said there she is
she was still singing
they placed earplugs into their ears
then headphones over their ears
they confronted her and began slicing her to bits
the pig...

Little Things
It's the little things
That move me the most
Like little kitty cats
And flowers sprouting
Up through cement cracks
Oh,the joy that
These things bring
To brighten life it seems
l see God's greatness
The most in the little things
That move me the most
Like little kitty cats
And flowers sprouting
Up through cement cracks
Oh,the joy that
These things bring
To brighten life it seems
l see God's greatness
The most in the little things

SCHOOLED BY A SPARROW
BIRDS
I have a
bird feeder
on my balcony
that I continually
keep filled
with seed.
Today as I
watched my friend
come for the
seed he knows
will be there,
I thought how
simple life would be
if we humans would
trust each other and
share the blessings
we have.
Today I was once
again schooled by
a sparrow.
What lesson will
you let nature teach you
TODAY?

Cock A Doodle Do
I live on a ranch where everything is free to roam
my feathered friends included
I love to watch them strut and preen
doing lovey courting dances
some of them brightly feathered
the smaller roosters follow the cock of the block
the fiercest rooster among them being boss
they pick out choice grubs
picking all day as long as the sun is up
the hens are kept safe by the cock
who guards against cats and fox
early to rise with a cock a doodle do
and early to roost as the sun kisses the sky adie
my chickens went...

Rats.... An Observation
I call them King and Queen
2 rats that live near me
Been seeing them for a year
Mornings when I walk my dog
They don't bother anyone
They just forage for food
Big but not scary
They startle when you cross paths
They are part of my neighborhood
Live under the Chinese Laundry
Funny how they became a poem
Think I should name them
Good Morning Marlon
Good Morning Audrey
Wonder if you were humans past ?
Payback in the afterlife

what (they call improvement)
rows
and rows
of established
trees
cut down,
animals displaced
from
their homes,
the land
stripped,
life giving
waters drained,
all for
the sake
and benefit
for mankind,
and this
is what
they call
improvement.

A VULTURE HAS LANDED
A VULTURE HAS LANDED
A best friend of mine, saw and posted a vulture just the other day
he wondered, what secret hidden message they'd come to say.
Vultures don't always mean death, sometimes in fact, it's rebirth
Teaching us self awareness, what in fact what we are truly worth.
Vultures can also teach us many of other interesting things practice patience and tolerance in whatever changes your life brings.
Also, often they symbolize that we need to have some faith and trust
that all will be better as things settle according to plan and must.

Invasion
understanding lighted up my mind
warmth suffused my heart
the day I touched you
across the desk
the special way you looked at me
the way you gently touched my face
the way you brushed my lips
with your face
understanding that you want to be loved
knowing you will be with me
through my laughter and tears
never judging me in my weaknesses
you are special, little cat.

King of the Jungle
When the Lion Is Hungry
The Lion Eats
He enjoys his meal
He toys with his prey
He taunts his prey
Then he grabs his glock
And he double taps him
to the head to make
Sure he's dead
So remember these words
When the Lion Is Hungry
The Lion Eats

Holiday Odds
One day a pig and a turkey in pens side by side find themselves talking. The pig ask the turkey, “what are you in for.” The turkey say, “I’m in for Thanksgiving.” The pig says, “dam that’s hard time.” The turkey ask the pig, “well what are you in for.” The pig said, “I’m in for Christmas.” The turkey said, “well that’s hard time also.” The pig said, “ no it could be a fifty-fifty chance for me.”

Front Yard
Tonight I lie under fireflies—
the pre-summer warmth
igniting their brief adult life
Crickets bow-drilling legs
flame auditory mating signals
Deafening cicada chorus
emerging from catacombs
of an earthen temple
Bat frequency
bouncing off prey—
distant thunder clearing its throat
amid a flash of heat
This is how I want to go out:
one swoop—an inferno
of burn; a falling star ...

Pheromones
We cannot see them but they have an action
upon the chattel thoughts some lovers deny;
thoughts of an inevitable protraction...
by which we comply;
a creature feature of olfactory fact
and subsequent baby production excess
where aroma promotes the sexual act,
after they undress!
And true sex is the antithesis of death
so let's explore some anti-natal options
that will never promote future baby's breath,
or their adoptions.
If unloved babies will become public brats
then there...
