Camel for Sale
A peculiar-looking camel
colorful beyond compare
sewn together with bits of fabric
exhibiting exotic flair.
Handmade by these two hands
an artful piece of work
decor for year around or holidays
whichever season works.
He's a camel like no other
with messy, light blue hair
so easy to care for
quite quirky and so rare!
Buy it for someone special
or keep it for yourself
put it in the Christmas manger
or set it alongside that mischievous little elf.

TIGGA
You are that’s extra twinkly star that pops out as darkness folds us in for the night but you still remain you always stayed up way to late . You are the warmth in the extra lining of my parka coat . You are muddy paws and wet nose kisses on my head and the unexpected gifts of a dead mouse by my bed .
You are still my comfort blanket but just from afar .
I will never stop looking for rainbows that end with
dreamy treats . Tigga quite simply in a world
that’s filled with so much war and struggle
and pain . One look at you and I knew it was
high five paws all...
You are still my comfort blanket but just from afar .
I will never stop looking for rainbows that end with
dreamy treats . Tigga quite simply in a world
that’s filled with so much war and struggle
and pain . One look at you and I knew it was

Ode to Sea Otters
I am floating down the river-bend
And the water is my own kingdom.
Rocks are my tools and I have wisdom
In cracking shells. I swim with my friend
And companion with no worries. There
Is no destination in life. Just breathing air.
And the water is my own kingdom.
Rocks are my tools and I have wisdom
In cracking shells. I swim with my friend
And companion with no worries. There
Is no destination in life. Just breathing air.

The Things I See
Sometimes I look out my window,
and I see some pretty strange things.
Like the monster shaking an elf’s hand,
it was just the shape of the trees.
Or the time I saw a moose with wings,
grazing on the grass in our front yard.
It was just a bunch of over-grown brush,
my imagination is so bizarre!
Last year I saw a giant deer head,
along the edge of the pond,
dipping down for a long cool drink,
a strange outline in the lawn.
And today while walking with my son,
he said, "Look, I see a rabbit over...

Flying Pigs
If pigs could really fly
would they have angel wings
that glittered in the sun.
Would they live in the heavens
on fluffy white clouds
surrounded by brilliant blue skies above.
Would they snort sweet songs of love
waiting for more pigs to come
heaven would be quite strange if pigs could fly like doves.
would they have angel wings

Rabbit in the Mist
Kissed by the mist
dark rabbit of my soul
the deer have come to play
you had better stay away.
Your back furry and black
you almost always pay
escape you will again
your luck it never fades.
But just for one more day
oh please come back my way
kissed by the mist
dark rabbit soul of mine.
dark rabbit of my soul
the deer have come to play
you had better stay away.
Your back furry and black
you almost always pay
escape you will again
your luck it never fades.
But just for one more day
oh please come back my way
kissed by the mist
dark rabbit soul of mine.

Winter Rabbit
It's not Monday,
but it sure feels like one.
The rabbit that lives in the log pile
hasn't come out in days.
He hates the cold, the wind, the snow
I don't blame him for his ways.
I've been throwing food around the entrance
it's gone so I know he's still there.
The waterpipes were frozen this morning
and woodsmoke fills the air.
It's only two degrees outside
and the sun is shining here.
but it sure feels like one.

Don't Step In It
Plum tree full, over ripe
mushy under my bare foot
bear scat on the ground

Rowdy
It's been so long ago
at least twenty years or so
your body hard and bloated
your head hanging low.
I had hoped that they could fix you
make you well once again
but the cost was far too great
for penniless owners, it had to wait.
So we brought you home that night
but you wouldn't come inside
you laid there in the driveway
such lonely, sad brown eyes.
I came and laid beside you
my eyes feeling up with tears
I covered you with a blanket
and told you not to fear.
Now your buried
just...

Death of a Rodent
Poor little thing.
Curled up in a corner,
of an old metal box,
no way to get out,
oh, what a shame.
Bones and dead bugs,
are all that remain,
of an innocent little creature,
yet no one's to blame.
Captured in an image,
its death has been saved,
curled up in a corner,
forever there to remain.
Oh, poor little thing.
Curled up in a corner,
of an old metal box,
no way to get out,
oh, what a shame.
Bones and dead bugs,

Shadow in the Night
I watched him as he hopped away,
stopping and staring before taking off again,
leaping across the crystal white snow,
then stopping at the forest's edge,
waiting and watching,
for his friends to appear,
before leaping off out of sight,
melting into the dark shadows of the night.
stopping and staring before taking off again,
leaping across the crystal white snow,
then stopping at the forest's edge,
waiting and watching,
for his friends to appear,
before leaping off out of sight,
melting into the dark shadows of the night.
