The Ice Pick Queen
My hair was matted from sweat,
bleach and broken glass.
He drug me through the kitchen,
I grabbed everything in my path.
Then he threw me down the steps,
he held my hair in his hands,
gave me a little laugh
and told me to try and stand.
I'm frightened in the bushes,
he's searching with his flashlight.
In five minute's timing,
my life was changed tonight.
Blood running between my thighs,
my ankles ached from rope burns.
He said I brought it on myself.
Pretty girls must be scorned.

Twilight's slave
I was sitting in my room so alone.
Tracing the lines, each leading to the next.
Each one may start as a straight line.
But so often a room holds so many secrets.
All those years of accreted injury.
Perhaps blood can be transformed into air.
And the smell of it lingers, at least for you.
Because that was your coping mechanism.
From the crows that fed on your flesh.
They picked at it so sharply, it hurt.
Until eventually it became a need.
And the corners can definitely be brooding.
Especially when the drum beats your hips. ...

Reminders of How I Changed and Why it was Inevitable
- Reminders of How I Changed and Why it was Inevitable -
Being a personal journey of mine, from some of the early stages of my life to those that came after.
Let me tell you a joke! Stop me if you have ever heard this one. Ready? Good! So, there are these two women and one of them is pregnant for her first child. She's a conservative, right-wing Christian who is anti-abortion and all that. She's also a Karen. You know the type. She meets a left-wing liberal in a bar, and the two women get to talking. The liberal woman asks her: “So where is your husband?” since she...

An Angel's Prayer
It's time to break the pattern to which I was born
I'm tired of being mentally worn
Living with the evidence of my parents physical scorn
In clothes long past torn, my hopes nearly all gone
Searching past the future for a reason to look up
Having known only one side of luck
What should be obvious is easily over looked
How can you walk so straight and leave a path so crooked
"I can remember" is something to easily said
Especially when reminiscing with someone in your stage
But in the book of life there's...

Fragile Blossoms
Oh, how she was so small when the pain began,
Purple bruises painted on her delicate skin.
Unknowing, she stood, as he shattered her soul,
Leaving her broken, struggling to be whole.
If she were a flower, blossoming with grace,
He became the hand that tore petals from her space.
Each bloom, a symbol of her fragile resilience,
But he, relentless, impeded her deliverance.
He hindered her healing, with callous intent,
Ripping out stitches, picking at scabs that were meant
To mend her wounds, to grant her some reprieve,
Yet he...

I Don't Know What Else to Say, Or How Else to Say It
I come to you with a plan, an idea for my future,
I'm so excited, I'm in a bit of a stupor,
I list all the points, because it's cool, and reassuring,
I'm just letting you know the information, teaching,
I'm showing you how I'm growing,
And how I'm trying to be problem solving,
Then you say, "I just want to go over it with you",
I know, you want to see it too,
See if there are any pitfalls I'm not seeing,
That's all fine and dandy, but you reiterate
Several times, more than I can tolerate,
The first time is fine, but after that, ...

Skoda 120l & i
A Skoda 120l. It wasn't so much that the car was bad, it was i who was bad.
It drove pretty well, engine in the back, fairly easy to fix, could even tighten the hand brake from inside the car by opening a panel between the back seats. Well, after a few months things started breaking down a bit, as they do and i didn't bother with the tough stuff, just did enough to keep it running. Winter came and i was still on my Yul Brynner tires, but nah, too expensive to buy new ones and i was a really good driver, or so i believed.
