As if choreographed with great
purpose by higher powers
it can hypnotize you
yet so spectacularly spastic
the flame of a candle is
Should come as no surprise---
houses, neighborhoods
entire towns have been
destroyed due to a single
person's lack of self control
What's been built up for decades
---easily reduced to ash within hours

[ SK ] When We Were Monsters
Justice?
Difficult to say
Karma?
Hard to tell
Never thought we'd see the day
when the bully was bullied
into submission; he fell
collapsing in on himself
as if an empty husk, a shell
----no longer this terrifying thing
from some outerspaced hell;
heart gone completely out of it
upon realization the spell
over us was as broken as him
though far from victim
Difficult to say

SOMETIMES DEAD IS BETTER
There is a place beyond the cringe of sanity
At the end of the bleakest path when you're too far gone
A graphic reminder of remains of families
Broken with dearly departed names chiseled on tombstones
I swear I can't go on like this
Cause the terror in my eyes show me
The dead look reflecting beside me
Don't judge me on my last letter
Because sometimes
Sometimes
DEAD IS BETTER
She had such a merciful heart
I traded it for a hellbound one

There's no such thing
Hey, it's just my opinion
Though having read any books
of mine based on numerous
"supposed" haunted locations
along good ole Route 66
you'd already know
that's how I roll
And by ghosts, I mean lost souls
dearly departed from their bodies
still wandering this mortal coil
But, just hear me out for a moment;
what if there are places in this world ...
Hey, it's just my opinion
Though having read any books
of mine based on numerous

is driving their Chevrolets
shopping at Wal-Mart and
watching Friends on TV
boarding trains of thought
with their own carry on baggage
oblivious of the circumstances
you struggle to escape
---nothing and I mean
NOTHING is allowed in or out
through the perimeter
Give it up
---call it quits---
hands in the airspace;
you're surrounded

Past is as temporary
as it is temporal
---a vast mansion
although sitting vacant
in constant expansion;
what you can't live in
no matter how
much you try
---no longer inviting you in
to tour its grand hall or dance
in the New Years Eve Ball
Once you've decided to move on
it's incapable of accommodating
current wants and needs
overgrown by weeds
now ...
