Does Anybody Dream a Comedy
I'm wakin' up again from a bad nightmare
and I don't think I can fall back asleep
even though it's late, I know I'll be okay
but I'm tired of the same old, same old, tragedy
does anybody dream a comedy
or am I the only one who never has?
is it odd I've never heard a laugh
or a piano playin' Alley Cat
so I'm wonderin' if anybody dreams in comedies
unlike me
the road is dry and boring on this long haul out to west Texas
and I'm itchin' for a break to catch some zzz's
not because I'm tired, no, the situation's...

GRAPEVINE COCKTAIL OF THE HEART
INGREDIENTS:
Fruits: Labor, actions, and words
Fruit punch
Smoothies
cocktail mixes: Godly Purpose & Devilish temptation syrup
Sour limes
Encircling the rooftop of my mouth
lies the natural-enticing sweet flavors of the “fruits”
of my labor, actions, and even exchanged words.
Yet, the bitter-spiked “fruit-punch smoothies,”
found in Wisdom's Mystery Recipe
Funneled and strained by God’s divine revelation
of channeled learned experience and observation,
ooze all the way down my belly
reaching the very core...

Me & My Mirror Is Me
I get the sensation of a life time intimate
And intrinsic observation of my appearance,
As I lay down my vision unto papers,
Drawing paths of dreams I once dreamed,
Catching leaves falling off from trees,
And birds singing in choir as the sun burn my eyes and skin
As I tempt to reach my gaze to where I can see the waves of branches,
When breezes pierce through trunks build and held strong by centuries,
As I breath scent of the living arising amid the sky and bring green to the eyes of bees
And flowers blooming as their nature has...

My little voice
In this moment
So quiet and peaceful
Is when I hear you clearly
Like a wind chime
You sing sweetly and lazily to me

Is when I hear you clearly
Like a wind chime
You sing sweetly and lazily to me

When I Used To Bleed Music
I used to noodle my 6-string for hours
Dripping platinum and gold on the carpet
To no one but myself night after night
Drinking in it's sweet surrendered dulcet
Strumming louder and louder faster
Accenting and pumping the beat along
So fast Id cut my skin and bruise my hand
Wizardly charms rang off sure and long
The music made whole by my passion
Ash body and rosewood neck caressed
Thought to note and back again and again
Finding that perfect tone in frets perfectly kissed
The buildup to the...

CHRONICLES OF OXY - HER DUPLICITY
as election nears D. Day
overtime translates standard
and I feel tired, not because of work
(oh no! not because of that)
but for the sensory overload:
loud voices
of the preening peacocks
online, on air
singing a chorous
off key, all sharp and pitchy;
visual abuse
of fake sincerity
with few vibrant colours
contrasting, inciting dyslexia
as a fad, feeling fashionistas;
rotten smell
of brewing conspiracy
mass hypnosis amidst awareness...

Thinking?
Roll it down
Roll it out
Roll it through
Spit it out
Take the time
Take the moment
Take a look
Let it ferment
Slice it through
Slice it rough
Slice the crust
Sync it up
Sync the time
Roll it too
Slice it down
Think it through
Roll it out
Roll it through

The Spring Must Have Unwound A While Back
I follow the light your light switched off
I walk the path your path to empty home
I follow the bread crumbs your crumbs turned stone
I arrive at our destination beleaguered bothered and alone
Bended reality twisted out of proportion
Left water spilling on the kitchen floor
Seeping into my moldy old dreams
Though always wanting that little bit more
Lights cascade from nowhere
Leading to and from everywhere
Sounds wash over me aethereal
Vibrating the ground but you weren't there
Two graves dug one filled...

Seemed as if my present-day aged,
reforming my deep-rooted prophecies,
into whims of novelties,
I try to refresh my journeys and fondness for idioms,
Discoveries,
Led me to sceneries of blessings and obscenity,
The effects of my imageries; inclined and bounded by scribble's identity,
I tried to flee the abuse of my ingenuity,
But failed to resist ,
I submitted to tongue's sprain; "my tropical tones" ,'
Resembled fire on burning stones,
Provoked my intimate dream to be awaken; by whispers of illicit undertones.
Candid moans...

Good Times Were They All
Skyscraper shadows and streetlight rendezvouses
pulse through my veins to the rhythmic heartbeat
of the city
Such fond memories, even the struggles were colorful
from the underpass condo and gas station bathing to
mortal combat over a bag of aluminum cans,
good times.
I stare down at her now from a much more elevated
position, but I always see myself looking back at me
We share a smile knowing that we walked a mile
busting out song lyrics in soup kitchen lines
at peace with who we are.

MY SHADOW STAYED BEHIND
For decades
I lived my life
Toiling and struggling
I foiled a path
And then another
Fork roads and cross ones,
changing lanes sometimes
Never have I looked back
Regrets followed
But failed to catch up
In the mids of it all
I stopped and looked up
Thought to contest
The glaring of the Sun
But the noon shine hurt my eyes,
And so I bowed down
All I saw was a spot of light
My shadow nowhere in sight
I looked around
In panic and in doubt
And there it was in the...

Bend
When a seed is planted it is in darkness
It grows upwards towards the light
When a tree or flower is in too much shade
It bends
It bends towards the light
When we are dug deep in our own darkness
We must remember to bend towards light
Lean into it
Put our weight behind it
And soak in all rays
Then when we are saturated
We shine
We add to the light
To help others bend to their light
It grows upwards towards the light
When a tree or flower is in too much shade
It bends
It bends towards the light
When we are dug deep in our own darkness
