ESCAPE THROUGH POETRY (HONORING DUP POETS)
Scarlet Shadows” of “LongWinters” dance like a “LilDragonFly.”
As“Rainbow_dreams” paint the beautiful evening sky.
Leaves of gold decorate the “Rowantree”
As the “Dancing Butterfly” soars on free.
As I gaze upon the beauty of nature that surrounds me from all sides
A “FlameOfFire” from deep within quickly begins to rise.
With the “Quill-in-Heart,” I begin to “ComposeTheSilence” around me
With the sweetest melodies of poetry rushing to break free.
The “Exquisite_Chaos” that resides like a “ThornWithin” my soul
Has turned me into...

The People's Advocate
No one steps foot into the world with an instruction book.
Make the time and be open to “learn them.”
Look at them as they are their OWN person with their unique character
Owners of their own personality…Leaders of their own lives.
Find one reason to love them;
Remember that reason when you’re tempted to hate them.
Understanding others is a skillful art that merits your time and devotion.
Dig into their past to understand the molding of their character and shaping of their personality.
Remember that everyone has choices,...

RECKLESS
When eternity is out of reach
Washed away by waves of the beach
And you feel in your aching bones
And hear it in earthly tones
That you’ve lost your only chance
To have that wedding dance
With Jesus in heaven
Having lost your Lucky Seven
Your heart has no other choice
You lose your way and voice
And you step into the world of a reckless sinner
Destined to lose and not be a winner.
As much as one misses God and turn to Him
The light of the soul grows awfully dim
Cast into darkness, one sits in silence

It used to be my favorite movie
You know how in the movies, they always
call it quirky how the character is hot
but everyone ignores her. Manic pixie Amélie
is looking over the Paris with its twinkles,
a cute little montage of what folks
are doing at that exact present time. And
you want to know French because of how
they count off their numbers. Vingt et undo
the buttons. Swasont to go for a ride.
Who’s having sex now? I’d like to do the same
thing towards my organs. Asking them-
who’s killing me now?…all of them. Let’s say
...

Tell me more about this gift of yours
That enables you to love and hate
As easy as flipping off and on a switch.
Yesterday, you cared for me dearly
Today, you care not if I live or die
In the Book of the Forgotten you have written my name
From your friends’ list, I’ve been utterly unfriended and erased.
How is it that you loved me dearly just yesterday
Bragging to the world your loving sentiments for me
And today, as easy as flipping a switch, you prove your hate
Saying you don’t care...tossing me out...

LITTLE BOY
Little boy so full of life
May your presence calm all strife
You’re a joy when you laugh
When you sing and when you clap.
You brighten up the days and nights
Take gloom away with your light
May the angels guard you with their care
May God’s light be bright and glare
Upon your heart and in your soul
Brighter and stronger than you know
We’ll watch you close as you grow up
From pitter-patters and sippy-cups
To grown man ties and business shoes
Guiding you when you have no clues
What to say or what to do. ...

And they wondered why her character was under-developed
Why, she was never allowed to orchestrate her life,
To find her own place in the world…to have her own voice…
You played a dictator…and made her a programmed robot
Programmed to think the way YOU thought…
To DO all that YOU say to do…
To BE who YOU wanted her to be….
As if having a LIFE OF YOUR OWN was not suffice,
You had to take hers too…and live through her…
Dictating every move she made….and orchestrated every step she took…
So, she learned not to think for herself...

Never understood your silence
As we all suffered domestic violence
But, perhaps you, too, were scared
And stepping up you didn’t dare.
I remember about everything you prayed
Promising us better days.
You were grace and he was law
Those better days I never saw.
Due to your silence, I wanted to grow up super-fast
So that I could leave you all in my horrid past
I ruined my life running through my years
Trying to find my own rescue for my fears.
For a good many years I had you as an enemy

While you mixed and mingled , I was hidden and locked away.
While you played with toys, I was busy cleaning house.
You had a childhood, I was raised a little woman.
I lived on the edge every hour on the hour of every day

the veil of the clock drops
along rungs of the shying sun
the day’s final crackling
swings an off switch
propel a toe to heel back to front
onto a still pulsation of pagan rope
fire fingers wildness, water palms stacco
earth hairs happenstance, air limbs bright
upon an unbearable openness
as stars dip scooping land
love to our own devices
that drive neon masks breathless stomp vibratoless
I am the Gnome when digging the Foxes
I be the Tinkerbell guide to...
