Submission under a Winter's Moon
In forested moonlight
Scattered pale blues
And caught the flank of a midnight
Black
And there was gripped
For a brutal moment
The wild of the beast
Then shot fear and thundering pound into the Earth
Where it was absorbed and held
For a Mothers arms are always willing
It was heard in the beasts hit of hooves And in it's eyes like a drowning pool
the question Why ...

Game Of Queens (Inspired By Ahavati)
The chess pieces were all in a row,
intents liked up for the game.
Whether or not to win was
the first question,
Whether or not to take the journey
was the last.
In the beginning the pawns
were prepared for slaughter,
later they saw its purpose in
relationships to placements
of higher echelons -
They were the important ones
despite terminal moves,
all was fair in a game of no winners
or losers, only survivors in witness to
a higher purpose and the...

Winter
The soul that sees beauty may sometimes walk alone’

The crisp top of each wave
knows Winter as it breaches the wind.
The birds shorten their bodies to it,
ruffling in the breeze where they stand
and the low Sun knows it too;
it sinks a glowing amber disk
surrounded by grey sky.
The land is patched in whitest snow
peppered in browned and grey foliage.

Memory Lane: Nana's Garden (With Final Chapter)
1) Memory Lane
In memory lane colors bloom
all in rows, brightest at noon,
just to bask in one hot sun
to grow at night while we slept on.
Now memories still bloom at night
when I sleep I still remember
the colors the most above all else
and Grandpa's chuckling laugh
and Nana's big smile, and
how she always did when I
went over and stayed for a long while.

Some say that he has no idea of meter
and that he only thinks in haikus
that his hearts ticks like a typewriter
and he writes only using alphabetti spaghetti
and can write a seven volume anthology in one hour,
Some say that he has no passport
and is the true emperor of America
that he actually is the writer behind all vampire fanfiction
and his house is made entirely of signed first editions
and his tongue is inscribed with every limerick,
Some say he knows every past particle through marriage
and his favourite novel is Hemmingway's...

There was always the player
of songs in his head, the worm
who had crawled out from
under the dead, of a concert
gone ballistic back in the States.
He’d passed out to a riff, a
duet to a banana clip,
in a pool of a Cuervo dream
that screamed in its stupor
as the worm tossed & writhed;
was baptized, down for the count.
But then, he slowly came to;
it was dark and he couldn’t tell,
nor who he was, what place
was this, why was it so cold.
He groaned. He felt so...

This is the age of many taboos
hiding behind that old smokescreen ‘denier’
stifling debate and contorting your views
stoking emotions yet higher and higher
Don’t talk of structural evil imposed
this is the age of many taboos
doors to our freedoms are constantly closed
limiting options still open to choose
Confusion is sown through the fakery news
people bewildered are reaching for pills
this is the age of many taboos
with knock-on effects for our communal ills ...

Prompt or (bus)t
Who fancies going for a wild ride
the journey will be a scream
no let up no matter who cried
this is real and not a dream;
the route shall be a blast
and keep the wicked writing up
or this will be the very last
as it will blow if there is any letup,
try yourself and have a go
it's not that hard at all
quite easy when you know
how to make any scrawl,
best keep trying anyway
as you have no choice
its rigged to blow anyday
best preserve your voice,
all I ask if but a prompt or two
finding inspiration is so hard ...

What to write what to write
while the muse is out of site
I'm just so tired of poetry
and pieces of the like
I only want to free my mind
cut out a piece for me from time
shape some words without rhythm
and written absent all this rhyme
What's that you said. the voice in head
"just open up, spill your guts,
do you really care if they think you're nuts"

Sand Seeking
Stumbling, staggering
ever onwards on endless sand
an infinite stretching sea of sand
as far as the eye can see,
sand, always sand,
a detestable desert
where wearied walks
make little footprints
in the sand,
travellers seeking a hand
upon the desiccated sand
a hand in inspiration,
dried up and dried out
of ideas
no new pieces
so no new peace
upon the hot sand,
enough to drive anyone mad,
sand, sand, as far as the eye can see;
seek and ye shall find,
sand and signs
empty lands for empty...
